Pog22 50 Posted November 4, 2018 Share Posted November 4, 2018 I'm not sure where to ask this question so I'll ask here as it's Kodi related. I have an old receiver that supports AC3 and DTS but not any of the newer formats DD+ DTS-HD, DTS-MA etc. If I use the Emby Android TV app on my Shield to play media that has DD+ or any of the others the receiver doesn't support I get Dolby Digital. Surround sound always just works, I guess the Shield is converting it. But if I use Emby for Kodi all I get is PCM 2.0 on audio not supported. I tried disabling passthrough but then all I ever get is PCM 2.0 at all times. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Setting the number of channel to 2.0 optimised with stereo upmix enabled gave more options for passthrough specifically one called enable Dolby Digital AC3 transcoding.
