Gerrit507 24
I know it's beta but just for your information: With the the two latest beta versions, beta4 and beta5 no items are played. It shows the loading circle and then nothing happens. EmbyCon works fine. I resynced the whole db three times. The sync it self works. Client: Philips TV 55PUS7272 Android TV 8 Kodi Leia beta 4 & beta 5 Server: Emby 3.6.0.60 beta Docker on Ubuntu 18.04 Edited November 4, 2018 by Gerrit507
sualfred 677
As usual -> Log required. Does it work if you start the playback from the context menu?
Gerrit507 24
No it doesn't work by clicking, context menu or force transcode. Sometimes it starts a playback with just a black screen or even kodi crashes. It's just completely random. I think it's not because of the kodi update because I rolled back to beta3 and still have the issues. The only other parameter that changed is that I moved the server from stable to beta. I did a complete rebuild of the db there too. I see if i can pull some logs off... Can somebody reproduce this?
Glyde62 48
Having sorta the same problem some shows play others crash kodi Tried another skin and 2 shows that wouldn't play in embuary played fine So something's gone serving somewhere Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
Angelblue05 4130
Without a Kodi log, it's literally impossible to troubleshoot this. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/17599-how-to-report-a-problem/
Gerrit507 24
What I did: 1) Start a movie. The movies plays and I stopped it after a few seconds. 2) Start a different movie. The same movie as before starts playing. 3) Kodi crashes. Sometimes Kodi doesn't crash then but no movie or tv-show from the addon does play anymore. I basically can play one movie after a fresh start of Kodi and that's it. Sometimes even that doesn't work... kodi.log

Angelblue05 4130
It's really strange, everything seems fine, but then it plays the wrong url... Can you try using the context menu > Play, let me know if that works.

It's currently doing the initial sync. Let's see if that helps.
Angelblue05 4130
Does it only affect when playing from widget (home screen)? Edit: I don't think a sync will fix this. but keep me posted. Edited November 9, 2018 by Angelblue05

Can you try using the context menu > Play, let me know if that works. I had a weird glitch that sometimes happens that when i click on movie or tv show from emby the first time the last video i watched on youtube pops up, I stop and click link it plays movie or tv show fine... It doesn't happen all the time only random it seems because when I try to replicate I can't... I just updated youtube addon though so if it happens again I'll grab log and report it... Never had what this person is describing though, is why I was thinking old addon data was messing stuff up...
Angelblue05 4130
if you slow down when clicking, does it work? Between the stop and play action, I mean. I just want to make sure it's not an issue with the playlist not clearing fast enough. Edited November 9, 2018 by Angelblue05

You are right. Only items from the homescreen seem to be affected. I started kodi and it played couple of movies from the movie list fine. Then I chose the first movie from recent movies on the homescreen and it started playing the last movie I played before from the list. I wasn't able to reproduce it at the moment, but I'm pretty sure that as soon as it was in that state where it just refused to start playback, also the movies from the movie list were affected. sualfred 677
@@Angelblue05 You mean the issue of the topic creator? No idea. I faced similar issues if the created playlist by the addon wasn't cleared after the playback has been manually stopped. That's why I clear the playlist in Embuary after the playback is stopped. What do you think the difference might be? Is it the way playback is initiated or? Maybe android doesn't need the play workaround at all?
sualfred 677
The widget workaround works fine here on my Shield. But I'll check it this evening to be sure.
Gerrit507 24
I just want to report back that the issue still persists. Currently I'm running the latest addon beta version and Leia RC3. I've also experienced another issue. I can't resume videos. No matter from the homesreen or from the movie list. I've to either start the movie from beginning or choose force transcoding.
