For instance I have Default Screen in TV set to Shows. In Rokeu when I select TV I still get Continue Watching, etc. then I have to select All Shows to get the view I get directly taken to (selecting TV) when using the web/browser app or the Android app.

Hi.  The Roku app doesn't currently support all the different views as the other apps so it doesn't respect those settings at this time.  It will in the future.

Thanks.

Looking forward to it -- thanks for the clarification. I just found out that I could modify it at all, so I'm happy I could tweak it some!

I wound up here looking for the answer to this question, too.  Is support for default library display on Roku still in development?

Must have minimum High Sierra? NO support for ROKU???
That's 10s of millions of Apple users and scores of millions of ROKU users you're excluding. You won't get far that way.

I'm done. Seriously. I'll stick to PLEX. Just thought I'd check you out after randomly upgrading an external boot disk to High Sierra - a couple of years ago when I was running Yosemite (like 10s of millions of users) you set Sierra as the minimum. Then a few months ago when I upgraded to Sierra, you had raised that to HIGH Sierra.
W/E.......but no ROKU?

Good grief.

Excluding?

It just isn't there yet. It is coming. Coding for Roku is far more challenging than other platforms. It also must be done on Android TV first. Then the Apples and Rokus of the world get it. This is a process. It isn't excluded. It just takes time. Roku makes some things harder and more challenging. We are up to the challenge. But these things take time. Please bear with us.

All the features in all the apps will be consistent eventually. We just are not there yet. We are moving as fast as we can. Thanks. ;)

Hi @@mad1, who do you think we have no support for Roku?

We do have a Roku app, did you see it in the Roku store?

Luke - I've been really interested in trying Emby. TBH I found this thread after ALL the other shenanigans I articulated in my post.

A couple of years ago, when many more users were still on Yosemite, Plex had a shaky rollout of it's newest Roku app, and I decided give Emby a try - nope...you didn't support Yosemite, thus EXCLUDING those millions of Mac users. When I finally pushed one of my external disks to Sierra a month or so ago, I decided to take another look...NOPE - now it's High Sierra! Playing with High Sierra now, I installed Emby and the Roku Emby app and was having issues updating the Roku app Home Screen with my user settings in my web account...they would default when I refreshed the web page for them, and never reflected in the Roku App - so I came here and found this thread hoping for help. Granted I missed the date of 2018 partially because the actual initial post reads "9:35 AM" - but the whole thing added up to a comedy really... a bad one.

Mostly, I resent that your response to the times when your system requirements for Mac have been one ahead of mine, of BLAMING Apple's platform and the TECHNOLOGY, rather than taking responsibility for not engineering your platform to accommodate millions of legacy users. As PLEX does and always has. Clearly, you're not interested. Nor am I any more...

@@mad1, I wish we could support older versions of MacOS. We're not doing that by choice but rather by necessity. Emby Server is built using the .NET Core runtime, and on MacOS it requires 10.13+:

https://github.com/dotnet/core/blob/master/release-notes/3.1/3.1-supported-os.md

If it weren't for this then we would gladly support older versions of MacOS, but unfortunately our hands are tied because of it.

Luke - nothing personal and thank you for your reply and sentiment - but you just did it again. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY - yes it is a CHOICE. If you wanted to, you could rebuild your server to support whatever you wanted to. And it's NOT Apples's "fault". I don't know - I guess you've chosen to coat tail your development to another corporation's, rather than innovating in behalf of the end user. Good luck.

Anything is possible; but practical for a specific (small) group of developers aiming to support a wide range of platforms is quite another matter.

It should be in development soon.

Thanks.

Any update on this for the Roku app? I know it's a bit of a pain to have to click the extra screen to go to "Shows" each time. Appreciate you guys working on this.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will we need Emby Beta installed to first utilize this? I'm using Emby Beta now, but it still defaults to Suggestions (vs Movies/Shows as set in my Emby's Dashboard).

Press the "cog" button at the top of the screen when you are in that library...
