Getting only favorites to show in Emby Guide

Hello Everyone,

I must be missing something and could use a little help.

I went in my HDHomeRun Lineup and marked a bunch of channels as favorites (yellow start next to each channel).  The rest of the channels I left alone and they just show an empty gray star.  I don't really want to totally remove them as I want my WMC HTPC to browse them if needed.

I was hoping to check a few channels as favorites, refresh guide data, and only show the favs while watching live tv from my emby app.

I am using HDHomeRun and Schedules Direst.

Thanks for any assistance,

Ian...

Hi, in Emby, you can configure your HDHR tuner to only import favorite channels. Make sure that is checked and then refresh the guide in Emby. Thanks.

Hi Luke,

Thanks for the reply!  I can confirm that in Live TV -> Live TV Tuner Setup I had both check boxes checked for "Restrict to channels marked as favorite" and "Allow hardware transcoding".

I ran the Refresh Guide Data but it still shows ALL channels in the Live TV Guide.

I do see the scheduled task for Refresh Guide completed successfully and that it has been running.  I also see that if I go into Live TV -> TV Guide Data Providers -> Schedule Direct settings the channels I have marked as favorite in my HDHR lineup are showing as Mapped.

But still if I go to Live TV -> Guide it shows ALL channels.

Is there anything else I can look at?

Thanks again...

Sure thing...here is a snippet of my hdhm lineup.

The yellows are my favorites which are the only channels I am expecting to see in my guide.

As for the other channels I was hopeing to leave them grayed out. Will this work this way?

I didn't want to X them out as I want my WMC HTPC to see them if I choose to watch them from here.

Thanks again...

I originally set up the tuner using the wizard from the Emby menu. It auto detected and checked both the boxes to only show favs and transcode.

Should I have done something different?

Right now I still see ALL channel and not just the ones I marked as favorite.

In the Live TV -> Tuner Devices menu I see my HDHomerun tile along with the Schedule Direct tile under Guide Data Providers

Thanks for sticking with me on this!

From the screen shot i am expecting to see only the channels in Mapped Channels

Here is another screen shot of my HDHM Lineup where i have channels marked as favorites.  What i am expecting is to see ONLY the channels I have stared as favorites...which those stared fav channels show up in my Mapped Channels like (above screenshot)

But my Line TV Guide is still show EVERY channels that my turner sees instead of my favorites i have marked5bdd34dc2dde7_favlineupexample.png

Can you show us a screenshot of the actual problem?  So far, the only screen shot you've shown looks like the program is behaving properly (only your favorites are there).

Hey...no problem. What I have been trying to figure out and get help with is that I am seeing ALL channels in my Live TV guide via EMBY even though I have marked certain channels as favorites in my HDHR Lineup.

As you can see and what I have been trying to explain is that when I go to Live TV I still see it starting with channel 2 - 12 (and rest of channels) instead of starting with only the favorite channels.

I am not sure if this is expected behavior or not.  I even X'd out the channels, refreshed the guide and they still show.

EDIT: tunerlineup.json https://1drv.ms/f/s!ArP3kSdf4yyZzHCUTAuTp5Fh4tW-

And you are positive you don't have any other tuners configured?

Because, we saw when you looked at that tuner's channel mappings, that it was only getting the ones you had marked.

(Also, please provide what Luke asked for above)

That hdhr json data isn't indicating favorites. I don't know why, but that's what we are using to perform the favorites filter. So that explains why it's not working.

I have no other tuner setup at home.  I believe the json data does show favorites, unless I am looking at it wrong ;)

But you can see I have channels 791 - 797 not favorited, but channels 799, 800, and 803 marked as favorites.  The json data shows "Favorite    1" under the GuideNumber.

EDIT:  I did set some channels to disabled from the HDHM Lineup but the emby guide still shows them.  I also just delete and re-setup the tuner, refreshed guide data and still same results.

Is there a config file they needs to be changed or cleared out?

I guess I will continue on and try other ways to fix the issue.

Ok back again...

I think I found the cause of my marked favorites not showing.

While troubleshooting I went and downloaded and ran the portable version of emby server.  After a fresh config I loaded my tuner and schedule direct info.  When I went into Live TV and looked at the Guide it only showed my favorites!

However, when I installed the Server WMC plugin and restarted the server ALL channels show back in the Guide.  So I think Server WMC is causing my favorites not to load.

When I uninstalled the SErver WMC plugin I only see my favorites again!

Is there a way to get only favorites to show while using the Server WMC plugin?  I like using the plugin because I like how it shows my recorded tv from my HTPC rather than adding the folder as a library.

Thanks again...

That's something you'd have to take up with the serverwmc developer. I would suggest reviewing the settings of the server wmc app in case it might have some way to limit what channels it reports.
