jfgilliam 26
While running Emby Theater 3.0.3 on Windows 10 (Not the Modern App), I have turned the Deinterlace video option to "Yes" and it doesn't appear to be honoring the setting. Here's a screen shot.
Luke 36999
Try different hwa modes as not all of them support deinterlacing.
jfgilliam 26
Thanks. I had it on Auto. CUDA and RPI are deinterlacing, but D3D did not, but all of the showed "hardware acceleration = no" on the stats.
Guest asrequested
CUDA doesn't work on windows, presently. I'd recommended auto copyback. And watch to see if you get dropped frames on some content. If you do, I can help with that.

Even though, when I picked CUDA, it did deinterlace it. I set it to auto-copyback and now it is using dxva2-copy for hardware acc. Deinterlacing is working. I am getting a few dropped frames. Guest asrequested
Does is continually drop frames?
jfgilliam 26
No. Very few. But on another computer where it has a 4K monitor all of them are dropping frames continuously. It has a nvidis gpu. Also have to delay the audio 220ms to get in sync with the video.
Guest asrequested
Yeah, there's an issue with deinterlacing, but I have a fix. But it takes a bit of explaining. Once in place, it works very well. Interested?

Guest asrequested
Ok, so you have to configure the player (mpv). Follow this guide In that mpv folder, make another folder and name it scripts Go to the this post, and get the auto-profiles script. Delete the '.txt' at the end Put that script in the scripts folder. Open the mpv.conf you just made, and add this at the bottom [Video Codec] profile-desc=cond:p["video-codec"]==hevc deinterlace=no [HDR] profile-desc=cond:p["video-params/primaries"]=="bt.2020" deinterlace=no [Interlaced] profile-desc=cond:p["video-frame-info/interlaced"] deinterlace=yes [720p] profile-desc=cond:p["width"]==1280 deinterlace=no 7. In Theater, set deinterlacing to no 8. Set hardware acceleration to auto copyback Enjoy your movies Edited October 13, 2018 by Doofus
jfgilliam 26
Thanks. It does enable deinerlacing only when needed. But, how to I stop the dropped frames on my 4k monitor? Is it because most sources are 60fps and the monitor is 30Hz? I'm getting a real bad stutter and audio sync issues when playing video on that 4k monitor. The monitor is attached via HDMI to an ASUS laptop that also has a 4k internal display. I also should mention, none of the source video is 4k. They are mostly recorded MP4 at 720p at 3k. Or, I could be streaming from the HDHR tuner at whatever the channel is transmitting. The highest I seen there is 1080i at 15k.

Guest asrequested
Try setting the refresh rate on your GPU to 23Hz.
