Azelphur 1 Posted October 9, 2018 Share Posted October 9, 2018 Hi, I have a computer I currently use to run Emby, it has an Intel i5-4670K, and it's running ArchLinux. It works great for everything, apart from HEVC of course - which it struggles to do and cannot keep up. I don't really want to replace the CPU, my logic being that it's going to be a very expensive upgrade as I'd have to replace the motherboard, 32GB of RAM, AND the processor. I'd much rather use GPU transcoding. My understanding is that nvidia limits you to two streams, while AMD has no such limitation. So I'm really curious to know if anyone else is using an AMD GPU for transcoding? What card would you recommend? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
