Not really a Emby related question but I need help because of my networking Ignorance. I have Google Drive on My Shield TV and I can Browse the drive, Download, copy, ect with  XPloreApp but How do I set the Path to these files in Emby? Anyone have experience with doing this? TIA. Good Job on the Android Server App BTW...Thanks a million!

Why not just use the file browser to select the path?

Thanks Sir....I tried that but it doesn't resolve....Xplore has it as Example (Google Drive/sam.smith@.com) and ES has it as something else and neither one of them resolve when entered into the Path for Emby.

LOL...you have a user named gmail...Sry for tagging you! Here's a snippet of the Log where Emby tries to resolve the path.....

I don't have any idea how to copy and paste with file explorers...well paste anyway using Nvidia Shield into a emby path for the library. I'm playing around with it but haven't been able to do it yet. Nothing Drops Down when going thru any /sdcard or Network path. Android is really difficult to navigate like that. I'll send Pics......

None of these areas are the Google Drive.....

And here's the Drive with all the files using Xplore......

There's no way to do it since you can't mount your gdrive to the Shield (though I'm sure a way if you rooted it), and the apps you are referring to are just calling the gdrive api and simulating a file explorer.

edit: I've never used it but isn't there a google drive plugin for emby that might do what you want?

you got me thinking....XPlore must have some sort of log file in the /sdcard/Android directory, maybe i can find the truth path in there somewhere......

Nope...That plugin is just for File Syncing, it doesn't work as using Google Drive as a source...Thanks. That would be a very used plugin if you know someone on the Dev Team! In the Meantime, I can just watch all my content using XPlore for now.....This is a much better Server Source than my Beast Server computer eating power like crazy though and it's perfect for Emby Live TV!

Our I/O does not use google storage api's. It uses generic java api's and that's why you don't get the android virtual stuff like google drive.

So he is right, you will need to mount it as a plain folder, and then add that folder to Emby.

Any clues on Mounting a Google Drive folder in Shield TV then? I don't want to Map it to the Server computer I'm trying to get away from....

Time to do a little reading.....https://www.androidcentral.com/how-mount-network-storage-nvidia-shield-tv

You might consider putting a rPi on your network, mounting the gdrive on that, sharing the mounted gdrive via smb, and adding the smb share to your shield.  That'd probably get you what you want.

I can Map it to my Google Drive on my Linux Box just fine, but I'm trying to get away from leaving that Computer running 24/7 and just have the Shield connect Emby and Google Drive...Thanks.

You missed my point. A rpi will accomplish what you can do with your server share and consume a fraction of the power running 24/7. Way more stable and way less hacky than what you're proposing.

Yea, I don't really understand what your proposing with "putting a rPi on your network". Isn't that just another Linux Operating System that needs to be running on a Computer? If so, that is not what I want. Or are you talking about these little gadgets? https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/

it's a tiny computer that draws like 2 watts of power that you can install linux on.  Google "raspberry pi".  Sorry, rPi is the short name for it, and I just assumed everyone has heard of them by now.

Yea, I found it...Unfortunately every Ethernet connection in my house is occupied and I do not want to bridge anymore. Nice Device though! Wireless is just too laggy for Media files IMHO, if it even supports wireless.

I have one of those already feeding Living Room and Bedroom!

The solution I want and Need is for Emby to recognize Google Drive Which is already on the Shield Box as Shown in Xplore App and ES. This would be the simplest and non-hacky solution. First thing I learned In College Network class was KISS....Keep It Simple Stupid. May not be so simple for @@Luke but if enough voices are heard I suspect he will add this capability!

That's a good idea. I'm surprised it's not in there already but the Android Server is a fairly New Venture.

Okay, so I think there MAY be a way using rclone over WebDAV to Emby server but having only just started playing with Emby, I'm not sure it can do WebDAV sources?

I'll have a try tonight and tomorrow because I'm fed up of Plex not doing what I want.

@@Luke - doesn't quite work like that on any Linux core. Needs mounting using FUSE and, sadly, FUSE isn't available for Android as it was replaced with SDCARDFS back in Android O

Like I say, I'll work on WebDAV and report back!
