HediSIX 45
If you are interested in this feature please like the post. Many photo enthusiast use RAW files when they take pictures; they come in a lot of different flavors and extensions. Here from WIkipedia: .3fr (Hasselblad) .ari (Arri_Alexa) .arw .srf .sr2 (Sony) .bay (Casio) .cri (Cintel) .crw .cr2 .cr3 (Canon) .cap .iiq .eip (Phase_One) .dcs .dcr .drf .k25 .kdc (Kodak) .dng (Adobe) .erf (Epson) .fff (Imacon/Hasselblad raw) .mef (Mamiya) .mdc (Minolta, Agfa) .mos (Leaf) .mrw (Minolta, Konica Minolta) .nef .nrw (Nikon) .orf (Olympus) .pef .ptx (Pentax) .pxn (Logitech) .R3D (RED Digital Cinema) .raf (Fuji) .raw .rw2 (Panasonic) .raw .rwl .dng (Leica) .rwz (Rawzor) .srw (Samsung) .x3f (Sigma) It would be a nice addition to be able to manage and display these in the Photo library ! I have checked and my Nikon .nef are not handled by Emby Edited September 20, 2018 by HediSIX

Luke 36883
Is there a list somewhere of which RAW files that EMBY supports? Thanks Chris We need to compile a list, but currnently it's the more popular ones, e.g. dnr, raw, cr2, etc.

Hifly260 0
Thanks, great, works now, probably needed to index first. Now I have the problem that the image orientation is not corrected for portrait images. I am using the iPad app, and Android app, does not work on both .. Is there a setting to activate that? Regards, Harald
Luke 36883
Hi, what does "does not work" mean?
Hifly260 0
Image needs to be turned 90 degrees when the image is portrait mode, but it is not happening.
Hifly260 0
Seems to work for jpg, but not for DNG or ORF raw files. Plex turns both JPG and DNG portrait images correctly, for the same files, so the info must be in the metadata.
Hifly260 0
Controlled by exif tag “Orientation” https://exiftool.org/TagNames/EXIF.html
Luke 36883
Hi, yes we do support this, but the graphics library that we're using has a defect about this related to certain image types: https://github.com/mono/SkiaSharp/issues/425 I opened this ticket with them a couple years ago, so we're just waiting on a fix. Thanks.
Hifly260 0
Thanks- seems there was no progress for this since then - without that, Emby can't really be used for images other than JPG. Any chance to ask them to fix this in the near future? Seems there was some newer activity on the topic here, with some workarounds: https://github.com/mono/SkiaSharp/issues/
Luke 36883
Those workarounds assume you already know what the orientation is. The whole point of my ticket is that the library doesn't report the correct value, so that needs to get fixed first before we can auto orient. Hifly260 0
My images know their orientation, thats in the respective exif tag of the raw file. Other tools use that info and turn the image accordingly into the correct position. But seems for skia, it still needs to be implemented. also it seems I cant sort by when image was taken, which needs to be there for photos ...
