701h 12
Hi all, My kids have a pair of old Ipad minis, V1 (ios 9.3.5). We are going on a trip and I want to download some movies to their ipads. I'm gathering that the old ipads dont support the "download" option, well, I cant see the option to download when I click on a movie. Can you give me some ideas to be able to copy some movies onto these old ipads? thanks Rich.
adamstewiegreen 147
I have an ipad mini v1 too, I didn't see any download option in emby either. I checked the Plex app and it does have a download option, so that may be a route. You may have to pay a little to do it though...
Luke 37060
Currently it's only supported in iOS 11+.
701h 12
hmm, thats a bit rubbish, I dont expect that support for older devices will be included. I've already stumped up for a lifetime membership with Emby, so dont really want to get Plex as well. Are there any other options that anyone can think of? At this point I might have to convert all the movies to MP$ and import them into itunes so I can sync them across.
tchirou 23
NPlayer is to me the best video player on ios. No need to convert anything, just drag and drop, you can even copy through the network. MrMC is a solid choice too as it is a fork of Kodi and even has an integrated emby client Edited September 20, 2018 by tchirou
Rebelox 0
Is there any updated info on downloading to an iPad for offline viewing. ? Is this feature available Thanks
legallink 187
This may not always work but I think if you join the beta, it works but you run the risk of everything not working cause you are on the beta.

Talbs 0
No update at this time. Thanks. Hi Is there any plan to make the download function to work on IOS 9.3.5?
Luke 37060
I'm sorry, but at this point I don't see it happening given the low market share of iOS 9. I think last I checked iOS 9 and 10 combined are only at like 5 percent. With a small team we have to focus our energy on what will benefit the largest number of people. Thanks. Fair enough, thanks for the reply. I'll do the old fashion way and convert with Emby Theatre and copy across.

I would try the emby iOS beta. I do that with an iPad 2 and it works just fine.
