If I click play all however then all episodes play. Further, in the ios app, which I have open simultaneously, from the same program / season, all the episodes show correctly ???? scb99 187 Posted September 17, 2018 Author Share Posted September 17, 2018 (edited) Here are screenshots Screen1.png is the series in the desktop app IMG_4697.jpg is the equivalent in the ios app Screen2.png is what I get by clicking on Season 1 in the desktop app Screen3.png is the same as Screen2, but in desktop mode with the tiny fonts and icons Please note "play all" works correctly, so the app sees the episodes in the right order, it just doesn't display them IMG_4698.jpg is the equivalent of Screen2 / Screen3 in the ios app, where the individual episodes show as expected (as they do if I log into the server locally). Metadata etc to come later when I have a bit more time. Hope this helps as a start. scb99 187 Posted September 18, 2018 Author Share Posted September 18, 2018 Hi would be nice to get this fixed (see screenshots) and as mentioned everything looks fine on the server browser view and on the ios app just in Emby Theater it doesn't show correctly. So anyway I was trying to get the metadata as requested but I couldn't find how to do this sorry. I can only see to set up a whole library to produce nfo files. Is this what I need to do? I had a quick look in the Metadata folder on the WD, but I can't see anything human usable there either. Is that where the nfo files would be created? Sorry for my ignorance. Apart from this, and that the Samsung app isn't available in Germany yet, I'm really liking Emby so would be great to sort this out. (By the way after today I'm away a while and can only access my stuff remotely from certain fixed ip addresses / locations, so if I'm not quick to answer over the next days, it doesn't mean I'm not committed to helping) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

scb99 187 Posted October 1, 2018 Author Share Posted October 1, 2018 Still not seeing episodes. They show fine on my iphone just not on my laptop using Emby Theater 3.0.3 (server 3.6.50). See screen print (the play all button does work as expected btw). Also, I just this second noticed, I was only away for a day, and already the mpeg2 playback started to screw up. See image attached. A server restart would solve this but I blocked off access. I'm very sorry the server and ffmpeg logs will have to wait about a week now, very sorry about that, but I will do that as soon as I can. Having just updated the PR4100 to the latest beta .56: - On the same client that wasn't working before, the episodes now display correctly with the series. Only two things changed, upgrading the server from 3.6.50 to 3.6.56, and that I am running the client in the LAN instead of WAN. Did you change something on the server between these two versions? - However many old TV episodes still do the "green screen" display thing. These are all old interlaced PAL 25i TV episodes. So I attach the following, which I paranoid-ly edited to take out external IP addresses and filenames and a few other bits and bobs, but I hope are usable for you: Ffmpeg log for a TV episode that does the green screen thing Ffmpeg log for a (from my point of view) basically identical TV episode that plays OK Server log from reboot to where I played both of those files I have the following Transcoding options set among others: Hardware Acceleration: VAAPI Enable Hardware Encoding Yes Transcoding Thread Count: Auto (I have Plex on the same server and on the same files that don't work with Emby, Plex works fine but it doesn't have hardware acceleration enabled, I'll check out if that makes a difference later but I ran out of time for this right now) Hope this helps, let me know if you need any more at all. Because if you are, I know already that Edge has issues with some videos. I just thought I'd try playing a couple of my non-working videos on the Emby app on my iPhone and there they play just fine. scb99 187 Posted October 16, 2018 Author Share Posted October 16, 2018 Ok here is what i did If I right click on the original mkv and play with windows media player, it plays fine So i then on the emby server converted the file using the default ‘mobile’ profile This creates an mp4 file with the same name in the same folder on the emby server If I right click on the converted file and play with wmp, I get the green screen thing, as per the screenprint a few posts back ***Vlc also gives a ‘green screen’ on the converted mp4*** So definitely here is the problem, so I think the problem is with the transcode not the player Maybe you can look at the logs I posted yesterday and some idea, where is the difference on the’problem files’? Attached is Demo.mkv, the original file, and Demo - mobile.mp4, the sad result of letting Emby transcode it ;-) Hopefully it's easily fixed. PS I had to change the extensions on the files to upload them. Demo.log = Demo.mkv and Demo - mobile.log = Demo - mobile.mp4.
