mikeB2210 26
Hi, I have send a log file from the Emby nVidia Shield App. Time: 19:27 pm (gmt +1) User: mike Problem: I have remuxed the movie "Black Panther" to mkv format in the same way I have muxed hundreds other movies. But this Movie stutters from the beginning, when it started on the Shield. I have tried it with no frame switching etc. I doesn´t recognize this by no other Movie that I own. When I start it on my Windows Emby (Desktop PC) it plays without stutter. By the way: When I try to watch Avengers Infinity War its also stuttering :-( Any Ideas? If you need some more information, let me know. Mike Edited August 27, 2018 by mikeB2210
ebr 14910
Hi. Can you please define "stutter"? Is it pausing for periods of time or is it just a shudder like a frame-rate/pull-down issue? Edit: Never mind. mikeB2210 26
Hi, today I tried something: The "Black Panther" movie has two audio tracks: Dolby Digital + with 8 channels and Dolby Digital 5.1 So when I switch to the 5.1 Audio file the movie is shown without shutter. Switching back to the 7.1 audio track brings back the shuttering. I have other Movies with 7.1 Audio tracks, where this Problem doesn´t occurs. server log 2.txt
ebr 14910
That makes sense as the error reports from the player are related to the audio track and Exo keys its timing off of audio.

What do you mean with „Problem with the audio file“? I have the same problem with „The Avenger: Infinity War“ Both movies have audiofiles in dolby digital + and have both 7.1 channels. Other movies I own have audifiles in TrueHD 7.1 and runs smoothly.
ebr 14910
I mean based on these reported errors, it looks like the audio stream actually has an encoding problem. Perhaps @@Waldonnis has some thoughts...?
mikeB2210 26
I don´t know so much about how Emby or the Emby Android TV App works, but isn´t it possible that the app has problems with streams with "Dolby Digital Plus / 7.1"? I can´t verify it yet, but 2 movies with this soundformat are making trouble.

It is possible that something in your equipment chain is having trouble with the bandwidth involved with that format though. You don't have anything with an optical connection, right? ebr 14910
Thanks for the samples. They reproduce and report the same discontinuity errors in the audio stream. Basically, what that is saying is the audio stream time information has gaps in it. Since the timing of the video is driven off of the audio stream, you see this in the video that is reproduced. I still suspect a problem with the actual audio stream. What is the origin of this media and those audio tracks?

RanmaCanada 344
I think what EBR is saying are they from your own discs and you used MakeMKV or another program or are they from "scene" rips. I personally would first recommend trying the external player option, and seeing if these files have an issue with Kodi/SPMC. It's quite possible that the internal player can not quite handle the stream properly. Though I know I am stepping on toes here by recommending that option. Sorry EBR. mikeB2210 26
The first time I have muxed the mkv file from my own disk with makemkv. Then I tried also a mux with mkvtoolnix with the same result. I also tried a scene Rip, but all off them shows the stuttering problem when using the dolby digital plus 7.1 audio track.
