I have an issue and I would like some advice how to solve it.

There are two seperate things creating the same issue.

1.  Convert Media

2.  Multiple Paths in a Library

Ok heres the deal

1.

Example:  If I have a program

Lets Just Say :
Ramseys Kitchen Nightmare.ts

Its auto converted so I have

Ramseys Kitchen Nightmare.ts

Ramseys Kitchen Nightmare-mobile.mp4

Then in the library I get TWO new covers showing it twice instead of one cover showing it as a folder containing two programmes (or one programme as the are the same just different bitrates)

I want them in the same folder and to be able to be found at the same place (if I have the filter on showing newest first the can be all over the place)

2.  I have a mixed content library again where programmes are recorded.  My capture device has several scratch disks and will record wherever there is space.

These drives are all set up in ONE library.

For example:

C:\tvrecordings

E:\tvrecordings

H:\tvrecordings
NAS:  //ipaddress/tvrecordings

What Emby is doing is that if they are not in the same path, its creating a new cover and putting them same as example 1, as a new entry rather than in the same folder.  Some If Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares records to all 4 disks, it will add 4 covers to my library, instead of putting them all in the same place under one cover.

If it records 20 episodes it will still only create 4 entries but put them in the folders of the disk the are on.

Is there any way to solve this already in Emby ???

Hi,

Yes it is still an issue, episodes or films stored in different paths are generating a second entry rather than adding another path to the sane entry.

If there is a work around, or a fix it would be great.  (If there has been a fix then the items already in the catalogue are not moving)

Many thanks

The problem is that although the second file is named based on our multi-version naming, the original file is not. So in some cases, after the conversion is complete you may have to do a little renaming to get them merged together:

Thank you, I see that now.

The problem is im going to have to rename all my recordings too :( , as the record like this on both next pvr pc tuner system and my VU+ satellite receiver. Ramseys_Kitchen_Nightmare_20180615_21002200.ts  (with the date and time in the filename)

But thanks - that explains it.
