Issues with HDTV Live and Recorded

I've got everything pretty well dialed in for SD content, and local video/audio files. The only issue I seem to be having at this point is with HDTV. When I open a recorded file it goes through the quality status and the bar goes complete but it never leaves that screen. In Live HD I sometimes get the video stream with screechy audio and then it goes to "loading" and hangs.

I'm away from home right now so I can't post logs, but I thought maybe someone would have an idea. My first thought is a transcoding issue, i know my computer is capable, but maybe I have a codec issue. I'll post logs later.

I've had this happen as well, but I'm currently wireless so I was chalking it up to that until I could try it wired.  I haven't had much chance to test it out much though.

Hmmm. I'm hoping someone will chime in with an answer. Is anyone having success streaming HD Live TV? I seem to have gotten the recorded files to work by adjusting my codec settings, but I'm still not able to get the HDTV streams to work.

I'll chime in on this, as I think it's the same issue.  Been wanting to post but needed to debug it a little more first so I could give a good description.  In my case, I was trying to get DWTS to play live to impress the wife.  Oh well - it got close.  I could select it on the Roku, see the request show up on ServerWMC, then the FFMPEG trancode would start up.  The status bar on the Roku would go 100%, but it'd sit there.  Then I'd see the connection was released on ServerWMC.  I'm not sure what to make of the transcode log, as there were some oddities in there:  http://pastebin.com/sWPxAkfP - and here's the related snippet of the MB log:  http://pastebin.com/MTNHhgKJ

It seems I can then scroll over and pick an SD show and it'll fire right up.  Pre-recorded HD content seems to playback fine.  That's where I need a little time to compare and see what's different.  I think it may be in the setup for ServerWMC since that's the one obvious difference.

I'm not so sure that it is serverWMC. I set up a XBMC install to test the server and it streamed fine to XBMC. My theory is that it's a transcoding issue.

In the meantime I've made a switch to another program that works with my HDHR to get live tv on my Roku. It seems to work flawlessly.

HDHR Fling. Unfortunately it seems like the best option right now. If prefer to keep everything in one app, but the interface is pretty nice and the set up was seem less.

I agree with you that it is the transcoding of the live stream that is the problem.

@@elmo your issue is that ffmpeg reached eof and stopped transcoding (well you cant transcode past the end of the file). This is probably due to the fact that the timings are slightly wrong. Ffmpeg is starting up the transcoding before a temp file has enough info in it.

Try this for me

open

C:\ProgramData\VDsoftware\ServerWMC\config.xml

change

 <Delay_WTV2TS_MS>200</Delay_WTV2TS_MS>

to

 <Delay_WTV2TS_MS>500</Delay_WTV2TS_MS>

Let me know how that goes.
