buddyweiser 105 Posted August 4, 2018 Share Posted August 4, 2018 I am sort of new to Emby for Kodi. I tried to set it a long time ago and gave up, but I thought I would give it another try. I currently use Emby Theater but it does not support launching external apps and Kodi is much more feature rich. However, I cannot get Kodi to do what I want! I have searched the forums and haven't found anything to help me. First off, I'm using EmbyCon with the Titan theme. I setup my home screen like in the video tutorial I found here in the forums. But when I select a movie, it automatically plays the movie. I DON'T want that. I want it to go to a detail screen, where I can see my movie extras, cast, chapters, versions etc. Is this possible? Also, if so, is there anyway I can get the theme videos to play in the background like in Emby Theater? Please Help! I've spent hours trying to figure out how to do this. I found the setting you mentioned, and am now getting a detail screen, but it doesnt have my extras. it has a section for "Youtube Videos" and "Official Videos", and as far as I can tell, none of the information is sourced from my server. For example, when I select the movie 10,000 BC, it brings me to a detail screen for the movie 10, and all of the information is from the movie 10... But emby server and other clients show the movie correctly, so I assumed Kodi is sourcing the detail screen from somewhere online. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It could be the way the skin to displaying the data, try switching back the the default skin and viewing movies info and see if that makes a difference. I figured that particular issue out, it was in Skin Settings under Media Library Views, it had "use extended video info dialog" selected. I must have did it trying to get the detail screen to show. But now that I'm in the regular detail screen, I still cant find how to play my Extras. And also, is there a way to customize the way this screen looks? buddyweiser 105 Posted August 4, 2018 Author Share Posted August 4, 2018 Sound like you are heading into the power user area, you are setting up advanced skin, addon and scrappers to tailor your view and usage to exactly how you want it. While this is absolutely possible with Kodi for someone switching from Emby Theater I am not sure this is a good "first" step for you. One thing to try first might be the Embuary skin: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/49724-beta-embuary-the-emby-kodi-skin/ This is a skin tailored to being used with Emby, it natively supports the EmbyCon and Emby for Kodi addons so it should be an easy set up for you to just install it and see how it goes. If you still want to go with additiaonal info scrappers and customised info screens I would suggest using the Emby for Kodi addon instaed of the EmbyCon addon. The EmbyCon addon is a simple setup and use addon to get you up and running, viewing your Emby Server contant and playing back your media in a matter of seconds of setup. The Emby for Kodi addon syncs all your media to your client so Kodi thinks it is all just local, it is slower to set up and sync but once you have it all set up is quick and has the added advantage of working with most 3rd party addons for extra info scrapping when using in direct file path mode. As you can see you have many options, some might say too many. Have fun :-) Thanks for all your help in getting me started, I will certainly try out the Embuary skin, but I read somewhere here that fast user switching was an EmbyCon feature, so that was why I decided on using EmbyCon, as I need it in my household.
