muppets4 23
I've recently bought a Qnap to play with. I have installed emby-server-qnap_3.4.1.0_x86_64.qpkg on it. QPS states in the logs that installation went fine, but when I start the app http://192.168.1.112:8096 is not reachable. I have another Emby server installed on a windows machine. So I disabled that and redirected port 8096 of my Qnap IP address. I also made the Qnap DMZ to see if that is the problem. Still nothing. Can't reach this page is all I see. I have also tried to install the community package. After installing Mono everything installs fine. I can see that the app is enabled. But the same situation occurs. I cannot connect. Anyone can direct me in the right direction? Edited July 11, 2018 by muppets4
PenkethBoy 2063
Hi The qnap was second hand was it not as its a very old model and only runs on a Intel Atom - similar to my 459 Pro II - which would run Emby but slowly when i tried it out for testing last year As such the QTS firmware for your NAS is only 32 bit - so you cannot run the the latest .netcore server - i.e the 3.4.1.0_x86_64.qpkg You can run the mono version of Emby though with QMono(the correct version required by Emby - can be difficult to find) and ffmpeg again QNAP version You dont have a bad NAS just an old one that will be fine as a file server but underpowered by todays standards for running the latest demanding packages
muppets4 23
It was second hand. Paid a good price for it. More to play with then to use in a day to day scenario. My NAS is 32 bit. I'' have to take a look at the right version of mono then. Thanks. Is it strange to think there will be a check on compatability when installing apps? PenkethBoy 2063
it may be checking the cpu which is 64bit but not the OS
Scarecrow_666 0
@muppets4: I don't know if you managed to get it to work, but i had the same problem with my TS-459 Pro II. I'm now on the Emby version 3.4.0.0, Qmono 5.4.1.6.0 and ffmpeg 4.0.0 and it is working fine. For some reason, i can´t run the Emby versions 3.5.0.0 or 3.5.2.0 though they require Qmono version >= 5.4.0.0 (as mentioned, i'm on 5.4.1.6.0) If you follow this link, you should be able to find everything you need: https://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=320&t=109476 Edited August 1, 2018 by Scarecrow_666

Scarecrow_666 0
What's the highest qmono that is available? After their homepage 5.12.0.266, but as i read it, it's only for the X64-bit. The last for the X86 is 5.4.1.6.0 Edited August 1, 2018 by Scarecrow_666

nasferatu 0
I get the same error as muppets4 : 192.168.0.xxx:8096 could not be reached I have a TS-659 Pro II and I experience the same issue. I tried with Qmono 5.4.1.6.0 and Emby 3.5.2.0, 3.5.0.0 without any luck. I am now running Qmono 4.4.2.11 and Emby 3.4.0.0 and it works. It would be nice however to be able to run the latest version. I have a premiere subscription with another user. /Mike
Luke 36881
Ok yea based on the above log I can see how there would be a problem. I do have some great news for you guys though. Currently you are using the Emby Qnap community package. This week we are going to have our own QNAP package now for x86 & Arm units. If you're saying that Emby Server 3.4 works, then I would suggest staying with that for now and then you can play with our official package that we're going to have within the next few days. Thanks !

I have the Mono Framework v5.4.1.6.0 and Emby 3.4.0.0 (community package). I can reach the server via web interface and WMC, but not Emby Theatre (that used to work, but has recently stopped working). On the Dashboard page I'm prompted to Upgrade to 3.5.0.0. If I do, I can't reach the server at all, through any Interface. So what should I try next?

Seems now the mobile apps (iPhone at least) are also updated and refuse to connect to my Emby server, claiming it needs to update to the latest version. So I'm stuck with web and WMC. In the past, I have always tried to keep up with the most recent version. Since earlier this year, I've had to live with the fact that I did not run the latest server release, but when the clients will no longer connect, I need a solution. @@Luke, do you have any advice? Luke 36881
Ok, I guess the QNAP community package will need updating then.
rondeel 0
Ok, I guess the QNAP community package will need updating then. That's probably the way to go. (Making the client apps less "choosy" about the server version would of course also work...) So how and when does this come about?
