Playback error

Hi guys

Trying to sync some content to my iPad so that my daughter can watch it offline when go traveling.

However no matter what I do I cannot get the content to play.

If I choose transcode and then set a bitrate, let it convert, then sync it will throw

"Playback error. No compatible streams are currently available"

If I download it without converting, it will play but no audio as it's not supported by the iPad..

Hi there, can we please look at an example? Please attach the information requested in how to report a problem. thanks !

Hi Luke

Do you need a file to test with or?

I can't see that the iOS app has any logs, it would be those that you need as the iPad is offline when testing. So it shouldn't access the server.

As a workaround, I have to go to vacation in a couple of days, so I need to satisfy the back seat.

I have converted the cartoons on the server using mobile as target and original bitrate. I then synchronize that down to the iPad and these can play just fine.

Next step would be to try to convert using a lover bitrate and see if that will play but I'm pressed for time and can only test this when I come back.

How do you set the target as 'Mobile' ?

I've tired syncing with 4MBs, and with "original" to my iPad and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't work haven't seen a pattern yet - but 90% of the time it does not work.

In the conversion dialog you can select a conversion profile, and Mobile is one of the choices.

When i click download on my ipad for an item all i see in the dialog is :

"Quality: " with choices Original, 15mbps, 12, 8, 4, 1.5, custom

Sorry, my mistake. I think he was talking about pre-converting on the server using the convert feature, which is different.

For downloading to the iOS app, all you need to do is pick a quality.

Yes convert on server.

Yes except that it doesn't work. It won't play the video and if you choose original, audio 9 out of 10 times won't play as it's an unsupported format.

As I've said converting it on the server and then syncing that works, otherwise I get the error message that I posted in the first post.

Thanks i did some more testing, and i think items with either subtitles/embedded subtitles are not playing back could be a coincedence

I transfered 3 tv shows, and the only one that worked was the one with no subs

Thanks, I'll test those out. And yes, when forcing original, it says right there under the option that it might result in the device not being able play the file. Thanks.

Just wondering if there has been any progress on this? I’ve been trying the latest betas but there still seems to be an issue.

Is it possible as a workaround to maybe allow playback with an external application such as VLC ?

Please try again with the next release of the app, thanks.

Hello

I have too the problem with files with subtitles. Original or converted files cannot be read if there are subtitles. No problem if I delete the subtitles before downloading as original or as converted files.

With iPhone X and iPad Air 2 with 1.5.5 and previous app releases.

I hope it helps.

As a not English native speaker who relies always on subtitles and a lifetime subscriber especially for syncing, I am really looking forward to the solution

Thanks !
