heula 189
Recently I have switched from Emby server for Windows to Emby Server for Synology. After everything was setup again and the database was fully completed I noticed a huge difference in speed and loading pages. Once it plays it plays just fine but it takes some time to get there. When using mobile devices it is more slow than wired. On Emby server for windows all was fast enough on all devices. In Kodi with Emby I notice just a litlle bit delay but almost not noticeable so that goes fine enough for me. I googled some and found an older topic about moving the Emby database to an usb stick for speed improvement. Before I will try that I would like to know if that really is helpfull and a speed improvement or not? I have a Synology DS418 with 4x4TB drives. This is the topic I found When this is still usefull, does the usb drive prevent the NAS from going into hibernation. That is what I read somewhere on the Synology website. Thanks. djhifi 55
@@Luke, in order to avoid creating a new topic about this (since I happen to have a synology and might apply to the OP), I saw this in other thread: systemctl stop emby-serversqlite3 /var/lib/emby-server/data/library.db "VACUUM"sqlite3 /var/lib/emby-server/data/library.db "ANALYZE"sqlite3 /var/lib/emby-server/data/library.db "REINDEX"systemctl start emby-sever What are the correct Linux commands for this? I might try it out but I tried googling and found no reference to these. I installed Emby 2 years ago so altough it's updated, my library.db is rather large and webUI goes slow sometimes @@heula this might apply to you as well. If there is anything I can do to get the loading times faster I will try that. Thanks

Luke 37046
I would suggest removing these plugins: Application directory: /volume1/@appstore/EmbyServer/releases/v3.4.1.0 System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '/volume4/photo/Alex' is denied. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError (System.Int32 errorCode, System.String maybeFullPath) [0x00129] in <9f46da0973534d9c8737c50aeebf5ecb>:0 Please let us know if this helps. Thanks. 2018-07-05 09:48:53.541 Info App: Loading CoverArt, Version=4.0.71.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from /var/packages/EmbyServer/target/var/plugins/CoverArt.dll Additionally, make sure that emby server has access to the library folders that you've setup. All of these errors in the logs are probably not helping the situation:
Luke 37046
Sorry, my copy and paste blurbs got flip flopped there but i think you can get the gist of it. Thanks.
heula 189
It goes a little better now. I only removed my photo collection from the Emby Library because I don't use it in Emby anymore. Personally I don't use Emby on mobile devices but my son likes that. Het will have to be more patience before he can watch his tv-shows on his phone. Thanks. Luke 37046
The next release of the server will improve browsing performance as well for all platforms, particularly under powered ones.
