1972 14 Posted March 31, 2014 Share Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) After it finished the download it starts WMC automatically and than I got the message that it can not find "media browser 3". I also noticed MBC is not in the installed programmes list (anymore). Seems like something went wrong with installing it... Edit: it goes wrong on my client (laptop) PC, on my server PC the update went well. Edit 2: Updating via the MBC configurator went OK ! Tried main box again from the configurator without Media Center running, it fails too with the following error: Error checking for update: The system cannot find the file specified My log is identical to the one above. I had the same issue, got the same promt to update manually, so I downloaded the latest version from the website, and then opened MBC, and got the promt to upgrade again, this time it worked, but it took forever to download the application. ebr 14910 Posted April 1, 2014 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Thanks. I wanted to see the log from 140. I know why your update is failing. What I don't know is how that situation was created in the first place. You are missing a key component of the install for some reason. Unfortunately, that install log doesn't give me a clue as to why that is the case. Everything appears to be fine with it. If you uninstall and then re-install from the web site, you should then be able to update. Once you've done that, please check back in here as I then want you to check something out. Thx. It re installed 140 again, but on running it, it told me there was an update to 148 and it upgraded with no issue this time. What ya want me to do for ya ? jriker1 16 Posted April 3, 2014 Share Posted April 3, 2014 I am on 1.40 fresh install. Have the config set to download beta versions. When I run the update process it doesn't return anything.
