video transcode help

Hi All,

 

I am having trouble getting my media to stream to my iOS mobile app. I can see the library, and when I hit play I only get a black screen.

 

I've reinstalled MBT, and the codecs it comes with. My files are primarily .mp4.

I was wondering if my ffmpeg was the issue.

 

Looks like there is no work around yet, and we have to wait for a fix?

 

Is anyone else having streaming issues using mobile?

Make sure whatever you are trying to play has a duration. If it says the duration is 0 minutes it will not play on the mobile app. You need to refresh the item(s) on the server.

I have durations across all files, seems something else is the problem.

 

Any other ideas out there?

You will probably need to post a log. Do the files play when you try from the Server (MBT has nothing to do with this)?

 

When you try play from app:

- does ffmpeg.exe launch on server (check task manager)?

- on the server Dashboard does it show you are playing something from ios?

but without logs I don't know it it is the same issue

Please share your logs. mp4 files should play without any issues. The only known issue that I'm aware of is with the dvd rip playback.
