Connectivity issues

I should probably post this on the ROKU forum but I thought I would try here first...

 

First I would like to point out that my MediaBrowserchannel does work on my ROKU although I am not sure why...

 

I am am using a wired connection to my ROKU however when I go into network settings it says I am not connected via wired OR Wireless.

 

When I try to update My roku it says I am not connected to the internet and to check my setup basically.

 

The channel store says it is temporarily unavailable, however this has been for quite some time now..

 

Through all of this my mediabrowser channel does work, however the video quality has not been the greatest, this is why I was looking for an update in the first place

 

My Roku says it is currently using the following...

 

Software version : 5.3

Build 4016

Last updated January 1st

 

Anybody have any idea whats going on  :)

I should also point out when I go into network settings on my roku when I try to connect either via wired or wireless i get the following result...

 

checkmark for wired or wireless connection 

an X for... your local network

I figured out the problem.... apparently I am an idiot :)

 

I kept reading about disabling network pings and when I went into the hidden menu it said ...

disable network pings so I for some reason thought that meant they were already disabled (stupid me)  so I changed that one setting and everything is perfect for the first time since I bought my ROKU 6 months ago.
