so im including my update on this.
im on emby 3.3.1.0 , ssh wont pickup anything newer to install when i do apt-get update / apt-get install emby or apt-get upgrade
it states emby is already at the newest version.

root@ubuntu:~# apt-get install emby-server
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
emby-server is already the newest version (3.3.1.0+68.1).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
root@ubuntu:~# #

I have too much data to purge etc so don't want to refresh the server at all.

any ideas?

im using quickbox and it seems to break emby when i do a manual update as am guessing some of the folders via quickbox would be different to that of an official emby install

installed emby via quickbox
installed version 3.3.1.0 (last legacy one)

I run the code for version 3.4 downloaded directlyfromthe emby website (ubuntu)
it installs, it gives out an error about restarting
i then go onto emby but library scan wont work,
quickbox states its disabled and wont turn on again or restart.

Right you can't do that. Do you mean the .Deb installation? Is that what you installed?

It just stops dead, quickbox shows it as disabled and wont enable and library scans wont work along with plugins.

Can you start it from a terminal and then supply the full terminal output? thanks.
