Multiple Versions - External Player

Hi guys, here's another issue.

So I gave up on the ISO route and started remuxing my movies into mkv.

I was able to setup a movie with multiple version, I only see 1 entry for it in the movies panel, and when I click the movie I get to the movie screen allowing me to choose the version.

This is my folder structure:

Moana.(2016)\

Moana.(2016) - 1080p-fanart.jpg
Moana.(2016) - 1080p-poster.jpg
Moana.(2016) - 1080p.mkv
Moana.(2016) - 1080p.nfo
Moana.(2016) - 3D.mvc-fanart.jpg
Moana.(2016) - 3D.mvc-poster.jpg
Moana.(2016) - 3D.mvc.mk3d
Moana.(2016) - 3D.mvc.nfo

The issue I'm having is both play with the internal video player.
My external player will not launch even though I selected 'Video' and '3D' in the external player config. Both version play with internal player.

I removed the 1080p version from the folder (keeping the 3D one), and when I restart Emby Theatre, when I play the movie the external player launches.

So it's something to do with multiple versions that causes the external player not work.

Any idea why external launcher doesn't work with multiple versions?

Hi, I'm sure it's some kind of quirk related to using iso's with the multi-version feature. Iso's are always a bit of a one-off. We will try to look at this soon. Thanks.

Thanks Luke, but this is strictly MKV, I'm done with ISO's per everyone's recommendation.

I provided a snapshot of my folder structure in the OP. All files are under 'Moana.(2016)' folder.

So if I remove the 1080p file and just keep the 3D file, Emby Theatre plays it in 3D using external player (PowerDVD).

If I put both files in folder, ET plays both using internal player showing in 2D.

Thanks!

I have the same problem with this scenario (2D and 3D MVC MKV in the same folder). External playback for 3D doesn’t work. I returned to separate folders for 3D content.
