ITMonkey 1 Posted May 3, 2018 Share Posted May 3, 2018 I have been running previously stable release 3.3.1.0 with ServerWMC plugin 1.1.3.1 and I was able to view recorded programming. Yesterday I updated to new stable release 3.4.0.0. WIth ServerWMC plugin 1.1.3.1 I can not see my recorded programs. With plugin 1.1.3.5 I can see the recordings but not play them. (Roku will error out and web will just spin) Basically the same issue I had before when the ServerWMC plugin was released. But now downgrading doesn't work with the current version of Emby Server. server.txt ffmpeg.txt Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This update to ServerWMC (1.1.5) showed after the Server 3.4.0.0 update. Should I wait to install it? Wait a minute! This is a jump from the 1.1.3 series to 1.1.5. What happened to 1.1.4? As soon as my post Server Update Library Scan completes I'll jump in on this new ServerWMC. Edited May 4, 2018 by Sammy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sammy 735 Posted May 4, 2018 Author Share Posted May 4, 2018 This is still not working properly but I'm going to let the server "Settle In" and try again. If it still doesn't work I'll post logs. Sammy 735 Posted May 7, 2018 Author Share Posted May 7, 2018 I don't know if it is related here or not but I'm not able to playback LiveTV on Emby very well if at all now. I can do it just fine with PLEX. Sidenote: I changed tuners from two HDHR Primes to one HDHR Quatro and rescanned everything in WMC, Emby and PLEX. Working in WMC pretty well but PLEX seems to be handling it best for whatever reason. I'll post logs as soon as I can. TIA Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Luke 36887 Posted May 7, 2018 Share Posted May 7, 2018 Please attach the emby server log, thanks. Also if you want to compare competing software, then please use the native HD Homerun support, because that is what the core Emby team is actively developing and testing. It is not really fair to compare based on the experience of using a live tv plugin given all of the extra setup and steps involved with it. Thanks. Sammy 735 Posted May 7, 2018 Author Share Posted May 7, 2018 Got it. I'll try out the native LiveTV in Emby If this all works out, which I think it will, I'll be saying sayonara to WMC because DRM Cable TV was the only reason to keep it and I've moved on from that now with streaming apps like YoutubeTV to fill in the gaps for programming not available OTA. You are correct. it is not fair to compare apples and oranges like that but don't get me wrong, I love Emby and will continue to use it going forward. I think 'On Now' needs better logic to list first things similar to what's been watched before but that's a subject for another post. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sammy 735 Posted May 8, 2018 Author Share Posted May 8, 2018 (edited) Doing the guide natively seems to work just fine. It would seem that the ServerWMC Plugin is broken right now.. Or my WMC is broken. I can watch and record LiveTV with Emby and or plex but not WMC so maybe this is the issue I'm having. I can re-enable the Plugin and generate logs if needed. Let me know. Luke 36887 Posted May 8, 2018 Share Posted May 8, 2018 Yes ServerWMC depends on WMC so before you even try to do anything with ServerWMC, you need to have WMC working. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Frankly at this point, since I've broken free from the DRM chain around my neck, I don't know if I'll spend a whole lot of time messing with it.. Time to move on. Emby DVR rules over the other one, BTW but there's a few FR's I'll be posting when I have the time to do so. Thanks again @@Luke ! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ITMonkey 1 Posted May 9, 2018 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Do we know if this has been resolved? I'd like to update. I'll do a system image so I can restore if it doesn't. On the Emby side, this is what shows up in the logs: 2018-05-21 15:04:57.642 Application version: 3.4.1.0 https://{hostname redacted}/emby/videos/2b106877b52a4694f7e020cc86a7796c/live.m3u8?DeviceId=TW96aWxsYS81LjAgKFdpbmRvd3MgTlQgMTAuMDsgV2luNjQ7IHg2NCkgQXBwbGVXZWJLaXQvNTM3LjM2IChLSFRNTCwgbGlrZSBHZWNrbykgQ2hyb21lLzY0LjAuMzI4Mi4xNDAgU2FmYXJpLzUzNy4zNiBFZGdlLzE3LjE3MTM0fDE1MjY0MTgwNjYxOTQ1&MediaSourceId=10977524101527559&VideoCodec=h264&AudioCodec=aac&VideoBitrate=9808000&AudioBitrate=192000&PlaySessionId=127ac0ce309643398bacec4df1d06cf1&api_key=2e475ce056d345228b8082c00d2784fb&TranscodingMaxAudioChannels=2&RequireAvc=true&SegmentContainer=ts&MinSegments=1&BreakOnNonKeyFrames=True&h264-profile=high,main,baseline,constrainedbaseline&h264-level=51&h264-deinterlace=true&TranscodeReasons=ContainerNotSupported,ContainerBitrateExceedsLimit {"Protocol":"File","Id":"10977524101527559","Type":"Default","IsRemote":false,"ReadAtNativeFramerate":false,"IgnoreDts":false,"IgnoreIndex":false,"GenPtsInput":false,"SupportsTranscoding":true,"SupportsDirectStream":true,"SupportsDirectPlay":true,"IsInfiniteStream":false,"RequiresOpening":false,"RequiresClosing":false,"RequiresLooping":false,"SupportsProbing":true,"MediaStreams":[],"Formats":[],"RequiredHttpHeaders":{}} User policy for User: EnablePlaybackRemuxing: True EnableVideoPlaybackTranscoding: True EnableAudioPlaybackTranscoding: True C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\system\ffmpeg.exe -i file:"" -map_metadata -1 -map_chapters -1 -threads 0 -sn -codec:v:0 libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p -preset veryfast -crf 23 -maxrate 9808000 -bufsize 19616000 -profile:v high -level 4.1 -x264opts:0 subme=0:me_range=4:rc_lookahead=10:me=dia:no_chroma_me:8x8dct=0:partitions=none -force_key_frames "expr:gte(t,n_forced*3)" -vf "scale=trunc(min(max(iw\,ih*dar)\,1920)/2)*2:trunc(ow/dar/2)*2" -flags -global_header -vsync -1 -codec:a:0 aac -strict experimental -ac 2 -ab 192000 -f segment -max_delay 5000000 -avoid_negative_ts disabled -start_at_zero -segment_time 3 -individual_header_trailer 0 -segment_format mpegts -segment_list_entry_prefix "hls/a60cca5d85fac0cb46859cec80ca6de9/" -segment_list_type m3u8 -segment_start_number 0 -segment_list "C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\transcoding-temp\a60cca5d85fac0cb46859cec80ca6de9.m3u8" -y "C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\transcoding-temp\a60cca5d85fac0cb46859cec80ca6de9%d.ts" ffmpeg version 3.4.2 Copyright (c) 2000-2018 the FFmpeg developers built with gcc 7.3.0 (GCC) configuration: --enable-gpl --enable-version3 --enable-sdl2 --enable-bzlib --enable-fontconfig --enable-gnutls --enable-iconv --enable-libass --enable-libbluray --enable-libfreetype --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libopencore-amrnb --enable-libopencore-amrwb --enable-libopenjpeg --enable-libopus --enable-libshine --enable-libsnappy --enable-libsoxr --enable-libtheora --enable-libtwolame --enable-libvpx --enable-libwavpack --enable-libwebp --enable-libx264 --enable-libx265 --enable-libxml2 --enable-libzimg --enable-lzma --enable-zlib --enable-gmp --enable-libvidstab --enable-libvorbis --enable-libvo-amrwbenc --enable-libmysofa --enable-libspeex --enable-libxvid --enable-libmfx --enable-cuda --enable-cuvid --enable-d3d11va --enable-nvenc --enable-dxva2 --enable-avisynth libavutil 55. 78.100 / 55. 78.100 libavcodec 57.107.100 / 57.107.100 libavformat 57. 83.100 / 57. 83.100 libavdevice 57. 10.100 / 57. 10.100 libavfilter 6.107.100 / 6.107.100 libswscale 4. 8.100 / 4. 8.100 libswresample 2. 9.100 / 2. 9.100 libpostproc 54. 7.100 / 54. 7.100 file:: No such file or directory ffmpeg version 3.4.2 Copyright (c) 2000-2018 the FFmpeg developers built with gcc 7.3.0 (GCC) configuration: --enable-gpl --enable-version3 --enable-sdl2 --enable-bzlib --enable-fontconfig --enable-gnutls --enable-iconv --enable-libass --enable-libbluray --enable-libfreetype --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libopencore-amrnb --enable-libopencore-amrwb --enable-libopenjpeg --enable-libopus --enable-libshine --enable-libsnappy --enable-libsoxr --enable-libtheora --enable-libtwolame --enable-libvpx --enable-libwavpack --enable-libwebp --enable-libx264 --enable-libx265 --enable-libxml2 --enable-libzimg --enable-lzma --enable-zlib --enable-gmp --enable-libvidstab --enable-libvorbis --enable-libvo-amrwbenc --enable-libmysofa --enable-libspeex --enable-libxvid --enable-libmfx --enable-cuda --enable-cuvid --enable-d3d11va --enable-nvenc --enable-dxva2 --enable-avisynth libavutil 55. 78.100 / 55. 78.100 libavcodec 57.107.100 / 57.107.100 libavformat 57. 83.100 / 57. 83.100 libavdevice 57. 10.100 / 57. 10.100 libavfilter 6.107.100 / 6.107.100 libswscale 4. 8.100 / 4. 8.100 libswresample 2. 9.100 / 2. 9.100 libpostproc 54. 7.100 / 54. 7.100 file:: No such file or directory Notice the blank file parameter and the "No such file or directory" error. Emby will sit with a black screen and a spinning circle as it tries the incorrect ffmpeg command over and over. A new transcoding log is generated every few seconds with the same incorrect ffmpeg command and error message. While Emby was sitting with the black screen and spinning circle I opened a command prompt and pasted the incorrect ffmpeg command and replaced -i file:"" with -i http://10.0.1.11:9180/serverwmc.stream/StreamRemuxFile?clientName=Emby%5EBUSTER%5E8 Emby started streaming my recording! I have been unable to find if ServerWMC is not passing the URL properly or if Emby is discarding it and not using it. Can @@Luke or @@krustyreturns find out? Nice detective work. Thank you. I feel a fix is eminent now. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Luke 36887 Posted May 22, 2018 Share Posted May 22, 2018 I am not sure why the stream url is empty. That's the main issue. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
krustyreturns 191 Posted May 22, 2018 Share Posted May 22, 2018 Hi guys, sorry I can't be much help I am traveling and will continue to be for another week. Nice work @@tigrao. Since nothing has changed in serverwmc I'm certain that the url is getting passed back to the plugin. Its probably the new version of the plugin that is somehow zeroing out this url. @@Luke can you think of why this would happen with the changes to the plugin? Sammy 735 Posted May 22, 2018 Author Share Posted May 22, 2018 In the meantime should we roll back to 1.1.3 or something like that? Thanks. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ITMonkey 1 Posted May 22, 2018 Share Posted May 22, 2018 @@Sammy I found that I couldn't be on the most updated version of Emby and use 1.1.3. To have it work I had to downgrade to 3.3.1.0 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sammy 735 Posted May 22, 2018 Author Share Posted May 22, 2018 @@Sammy I found that I couldn't be on the most updated version of Emby and use 1.1.3. To have it work I had to downgrade to 3.3.1.0 So it's a server thing too.. I suppose I could disconnect Emby from WMC for the time being and just use the native tuner and guide. Hmm. I'm moving most of my recording duties to Plex for CommSkip right now so IDK if I need to have the connection here other than for the better guide provided from WMC using epg123.
