Auto Box Sets or DLNA: Deletes folders with movies?

I have a feeling that Auto Box Sets is responsible for my missing movies all of sudden but I'm not sure yet.

 

Since a fewe days I miss some movies from my collection and I haven't deleted them and I'm the only one that can in my house.

 

The log give me this line that me makes me think this.

At first I thougt it was the new DLNA feature that this this but again I'm not sure yet.

Both are disabled now to see what happens.

The Auto-Boxset plugin creates shortcuts to your movies. It doesn't actually manipulate your movie files. Some clients do allow direct deletion of content which I am against but others prefer. It would be nice if that had to go through the server itself and you could disable it either globally or per user.

The first thing you need to do is update the Auto Box Sets plug-in to the new version for the new server.  It no longer deals with shortcuts.

 

Remove your former automatic box sets from your media library as well.

You mean remove the [boxset] behind the folder name?

 

Is this what is causing this because the movies weren't all boxsets but also one folder movies.

No.  I mean update to the latest plug-in and remove any MB Auto Set xxx items that were created in whatever location you pointed the old one to.  Then remove that location from your library (assuming you followed the instructions and had a separate area for the auto sets).

Okay. Yes I have manually created boxsets. I have removed the plugin for now and the collections folder from the server data folder. I have boxsets in all my library folders that I like to keep this way. So I think it will be safer to handle my boxsets myself.

Just experienced the same issue while updating a collection folder.  Updating one movie deleted both movies.

Just experienced the same issue while updating a collection folder.  Updating one movie deleted both movies.

 

What version of AutoBox Sets?

 

It also looks like you pointed the old version of Auto Box sets to a folder of your own making with your own content in it.  It said in the configuration that you should not do this.

 

In any case, the new version will never do this because it will only ever manipulate the sets in our special Collections folder.

Please update the plug-in to the new version I just put up.  I removed any attempt to manage existing sets.  So, once it creates a set it will stay, even if you remove the containing movies.  You'll have to also remove the set.  This will be safer.
