PenkethBoy 2063 Posted March 17, 2018 Share Posted March 17, 2018 I have been trying to get Vaapi to work on my QNAP 853A I have set it to Vaapi in the Transcoding section and have it set to /dev/dri/renderD128 In the DVR section i have set the option to convert to mkv I have enabled Hardware encoding as i want Vaapi to be used with Transcoding TV recordings as the NAS is not capable of recording two show as mkv at the same time at an acceptable speed Am i missing something? Luke 36881 Posted March 17, 2018 Share Posted March 17, 2018 There see certain kinds of files it can't be used with so assuming you've actually enabled it that's probably the reason. The converting feature is soon to be deprecated once we have a feature to convert after the recording. It's just too unstable to convert on the fly.
