The HDHR Prime only supports digital channels (QAM), from searching a cable card is not required but only unencrypted channels would be found. Most providers like. Comcast, ect generally require a cable card for digital service.

If your provider is still using analog (NTSC / ATSC) the HDHR will not work

Note IPTV / Sat services are also not supported by the HDHR prime

A CableCard is NOT required to use the HDHomeRun Prime, if you have ClearQAM (un-encrypted DIGITAL cable) provided by your CATV provider. It sounds like from your later post you are not getting DIGITAL cable but Analog. If that is in fact the case then the HDHR Prime will not work for you - DIGTAL Only. I don't think any of the HDHR tuners will work in your case.

Are you certain it is Analog? One thing you can check is in the HDHomeRun Setup program on the Configuration tab ensure your source tab is set to Digital Cable (without CableCard installed) or CableCard (with CableCard installed). Then do a channel scan.

The HDHR tuners need to have a good signal level also. If there are 1 or more splitters installed in your cable line BEFORE it gets to the HDHR Prime the signal level might not be strong enough. In that case I would try removing a splitter(s) and try again - or move the tuner to a different spot as close to where the cable enters the home.

Thank you very much, if my current CABLE TV is ANALOG, I will have to buy digital TV then

I know we are dealing with a language barrier here - The TV is not what you need to change to be able to use the HDHR Prime. The signal that comes to the home need to be DIGITAL cable. So if that signal is analog as you suggest a new TV will not solve the issue.

Is that clear?

is sierto, the translator, does not do his job hahahaha IF I UNDERSTAND THAT I MUST HAVE A DIGITAL CABLE TV TO WORK THE TV CABLE DIGITAL, A QUESTION? IF I HAVE 3 DECODIFIERS TV CABLE DIGITAL MOVISTAR, COULD THERE BE JOINED THROUGH A SPLITER THOSE THREE DECODERS AND DETECT THE HDHOMERUN PRIME? TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE THREE TUNERS THAT THE HDHOME RUN WEARS

A digital TV or "Smart TV" will help, yes.

How are you planning to watch or view Emby? On the TV?

I don't  really understand the question you asked "If I have....." Lets find out first what type of Signal you have coming into the home. Then proceed from there.

I'm thinking of buying MOVISTAR's digital cable, three decoders which would be connected by a HDHOMER UN spliter to connect it to the only HDHOMERUN port I COULD?

ahh. Este es en Peru..

Me no conoce pero no te creo la Cable en Peru requirmente CableCARD. Es digital aunque..

And that is pushing my ability in Spanish.

Ahh, this is in Peru.

I don't know but I don't believe that Cable in Peru requires CableCARD. It is digital though.

So piecing together what @@Sammy posted and what I think I understand from what you are telling me - Using a splitter to hook up the 3 decoders and the HDHR Prime MAY work, it depends on your signal strength. Depending on the spitter you use you may end up with 25% of the original signal strength on each output tap or 1 port may maybe 50% and the other 3 25%. Your splitter needs to be compatible with the frequency range of your cable system. You may end up needing to use a distribution amp instead - which will give you the same signal level out of each output tap, or perhaps a slight gain compared to the input.

It appears from what @@Sammy posted that you will HAVE to have a CableCard inserted to get any channels out of the HDHR Prime.

I don't know if the cable system where you live operates similar to what we have in the US. Don't KNOW that it will be compatible with the HDHR Prime.

I hope this is clear enough thru the translatior :
