Not moving show to first position in Next up after watching.

I will watch a show and, after it completes. Emby correctly marks it as watched but the show remains at whatever position it was in when I started watching it.

Earlier whenever I watched a show and it finished the show would be moved to the first position in Next up.

Ok, so now we're in the right thread. Lol

Are you on .70?

Maybe that's the difference?

As I said in the other thread: What 70. I don't understand.

Click on settings at the bottom.

The top of that page will show the version number

Should be 3.0.70

I was on 3.0.69. I performed the system update and now I am on 3.0.70. We will see if it makes a difference after the end of the current episode.

Well the new version made no difference.

Attached are my latest server logs.

To restate the problem:

I watch an episode of a series from "Next up" at say position 10

The episode  finishes and exits

The series advances to the next episode BUT remains at the position where it was in next up ie. pos 10

That is not how it used to work for me. Is there a setting I am missing either on my Roku or on the server?

Even exiting Emby and reentering or even restarting the server makes no difference. The series remains where it was in the Next up list.

It should be noted that I have Trakt linking my Emby and my Plex and after watching a show ie inby and allowing enough time for Trakt to update Plex I find that Plex correctly has the watched show at the first position in "On Deck" which is Plex's equivalent of "Next up."

That is it seems the only thing not working correctly is moving the series to the first position in Next up after an episode is watched.

OK. Now for the weirdness!

The episode I just played was from the series "Numbers"

The show before it is "Bones"

After I reentered Emby "Numbers" was still at the position (10 of 20) where it was when I watched the previous episode.

"Bones" was at position 9

I selected "Bones" and Emby started playing the next episode of "Numbers"

I exited the "Numbers" playback and found that "Numbers" had moved to position 1 and "Bones" was now at position 10

That is trying to play "Bones" resulted in Emby mistakenly playing "Numbers" and when the mistaken playback was stopped "Next up" returned to its correct order and trying to play an episode played what was selected.

Can you try this with the web app?

If the episode information is updating, I don't know how it couldn't also be re-ordering the row unless that is the order it is coming back from the server.  We replace the entire content of the row when we refresh it.

I notice this in your server log:

2018-02-27 23:17:14.224 Info Trakt: Playback Stopped
2018-02-27 23:17:14.224 Info Trakt: Item Not fully played. Tell trakt.tv we are no longer watching but don't scrobble

That indicates the system doesn't think the episode was finished but also shows a successful re-retrieval of the next up items.

I often interrupt playback to do something else. I do not think that has anything to do with the problem.

One more thing I remember that if I started playback and exited playback say 10 minutes in and exited the Emby app and the later reentered the app the partially played show was moved to the first position. That also is no longer happening.

Okay, again, please try with the web app because I don't see how this can be related to the Roku app.  I think it is something server or data-related.

I am not able to use the web app for playback. Would a test using my Fire TV or my Shield also show what you want to see?

I, too, do not think that is is necessarily related to the Roku app and that is why I attached my server logs earlier.

Yes, it would least give us another context.

Thanks.

II tested using my Shield and the behavior is the same.

I opened a new thread under the Windows server section since it seems to be a server issue. I hope that is OK.
