Not showing watched after episode is over

I notice that Emby doesn't refresh the screen and show TV episodes as watched on the Roku(not sure if it happens elsewhere I use Roku exclusively).  Sometimes I can go 2 or 3 episodes on multiple shows and it won't show any as watched until much later.

Is there a way to make it show as watched without exiting the app or waiting?

I have a TV Shows library.  It has all my shows that I am watching.  I filter by unwatched so I only see what I haven't watched.  I watch an episode of one show and then back out to the TV Shows section.  When I am there it still shows the show with 1 unwatched episode even though it has been watched.  I can go into another show and watch an episode and when it is over I back out and the other episode is gone but now I see the show I just watched still shows its episode as unwatched.

Does that help?

Well - for me it happens on Shield as well - mostly going "back" one level and then again to the show is fixing it, but sometimes it's annoying when season is long (Anime mostly) and after watching an "episode in the middle" i need to scroll for next one (have next autoplay disabled)

On beta if you go into all shows and filter unwatched, you could watch multiple episodes from different shows and nothing will update until you back out to the level before "all shows". Doing as the OP states won't clear the previously watched show as it does for him/her.

But, since I am playing from "Next up" there is no level to go back to.

Before recent updates after a show was watched and it was marked watched and series advanced to the next show the series also moved to the first position in "Next up." I like that behavior and I would like to be able to re-enable it. I do not much like the way it is behaving now. To me it makes no sense.

Edit: I responded to this think I was responded to my own thread as it sounds similar. However my problem is only tangentially similar.

@Gilga

Are you on public or beta?

I just tested this on beta watching an episode through "next up" that was about 5 episodes over from the 1st position. When the episode was over, that series next episode went to the 1st next up position. Again, this is the beta channel.

I use the beta app.

This works for me too and shouldn't be any different between public or beta.

Can you please explain exactly where you are watching from and exactly what happens?

This is an issue and will be addressed in an upcoming beta.

Thanks.

I did not intend to hijack this thread. Pleas see my thread where I have more details.
