Trying to use the new play to to and LG 42LV550T (which supports playto) and get an http 500 error displayed on screen:

Below is the log file at the time it happened.

Judging from that data I guess you tried to play a mkv?

Would you mind trying to send a avi to the tv just to confirm you get the same error?

We haven't gotten the LG profiles completed yet, but we're working as fast as possible. :)

Do you need assistance for Sony Bravia TV's (I'm a techo so can do tracing/debugging etc)?

Setup as follows:

HTPC: 10.0.0.99 (wireless interface)

Sony BRAVIA KDL-32CX520 (10.0.0.74)

Sony BRAVIA KDL-52EX700 (10.0.0.88)

I started MB server, used web interface to first play mkv, then tried mp4 (supported format on sony without transcoding), tried play to for one of my Bravia's (KDL-32CX520), failed with 500 so went looking at logs...see below.

The log iss filling up with errors trying to update device  information from my TV's so I'm guessing it's related to the Sony models not having their profiles completed yet.

Ive got a vague memory of this error.. I don't think it's a LG specific. I wonder if it's not a security issue, that we haven't been trusted to control the device..

Is there a list of allowed devices or similar in the TV?

If it is, could you try clearing it and test again?

I seem to be getting similar behavior on my Panasonic VT30 TV.

It displays a 500 error on my tablet screen running the web client when I select "remote" and "play" with my TV as the destination. The TV starts to look like it is going to play (switches modes etc) but then displays a "cannot play file" error.

In the media browser server logs that I can access through the web client I see the following:

2014-03-17 18:56:59.9430 Error - App: Error getting response from http://192.168.2.114:55000/dmr/control_2

2014-03-17 18:57:00.0055 Error - DtoUtils: ServiceBase

I am running server build 3.0.5188.21314.

I tried with both mkv and avi and saw the same behavior.

There doesn't appear to be a setting on the TV to enable specific devices to be able to play to it.

Happy to attempt other tests if that would be helpful.

Great new feature!!

i have allowed anything on my subnet to control the TV, I can play to from windows media player using the Play To feature there ( i know that uses m$ upnp.dll under the hood), just MB server fails at the moment, I suspect it's a device specific issue not interpretting the DLNA http headers/xml correctly...

If you know how to use fiddler, I would very much appritiate if you could run a test with Windows Media Player to see what the headers say when sending the Play command from that?

Most likely we have an issue with DLNA.ORG_FLAGS and/or DLNA.ORG_OP and it would be great if this could be confirmed.

With regards to the Sony and Media Browser server, the response SOAP message that's throwing the 500 error is:

I've done some tracing this evening which I help assists you to track down the issue.

NOTE: The traces is for the following devices on my network

Sony BRAVIA KDL-32CX520 (10.0.0.74)

HTPC: (10.0.0.99)

For the PlayTo capability in Windows Media player, the http traffic wouldn't appear in fiddler (?), so I used wireshark to capture the http traffic, which I saved each request/response into a separate file (text file no extension)

PlayTo - Windows Media Player - Works.zip

(the numbering on the files is the order in which wireshark captured the http traffic)

I've also included the fiddler archive which was able to pick up MB Server http traffic, but I also included the wireshark http request/responses as well

Play To - Media Browser - Broken.zip

I'm happy to help further if you need it, just let me know

(I can provide a wireshark trace too - they are rather verbose however...)

Hey guys

I've failed to get DLNA going at all since I last posted. Both PlayTo and dlna server is not working with either of my Sony Bravia TV's using MB3.

Media Player works wiht PlayTo, as does Plex and PS3 media server as a DLNA server.

I can debug if you like, I have the latest dev server installed  Version 3.0.5266.37853 with all debug logging on (and I can trace if you like)

Let me know if you would like my help.
