Tonight i want to watch an 3D Movie and it would played directly as 2D.

Movies i added month ago will play as HSBS or HTAB correctly.

I checked it with Kodi18+latest Emby Kodi Beta and SPMC16+EmbyforKodi-3.2.62 both on Nvidia Shield.

Same thing happens when i play the movies with the Emby Android App (on Nvidia Shield), old added Movies will play as HSBS/HTAB new ones as 2D with very big black borders and a small picture in the middle.

The 3D Format is correctly set on the Emby Server. It also writen to the nfo file.

The 3D Format is correctly set in the mkv header.

When i play the Movies with Emby Theater on Windows, ALL Movies working correctly.

The Server is actually version 3.2.70.0 (mono version)

The streams are played over http, no samba access available.

Whats wrong on the Shield Box with Kodi and the Native Emby App?

Hmm i tested a bit more with other programs and the result is that the problem is the nvidia shield itself.

I played some of the problematic mkv files directly with vlc on the shield (not over the emby server) and they also played in 2D :o

Then i reattached my old FireTV2 Box with SPMC16 and played the mkvs over the Emby Server and voila, played in HTAB

So now i must investigate the differences between mkvs who played correctly on the shield and the ones who played in 2D.

Very strange thing

Sorry for the wrong Bug Message.

A little update to the Problem. Its a shield bug i think: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=262580

When i disable Mediacodec acceleration in Kodi the problem mkvs are played fine.

Same thing with vlc player on Shield. Hardware acceleration on auto oder full and the 3d mkv will play as 2D.

Turning off Acceleration in VLC al is working fine.

For everybody who's interested.

I found a solution to the problem.

I demuxed and remuxed the not working mkv's. The Trick is that the video stream MUST demux with tsMuxeR (https://www.videohelp.com/software/tsMuxeR)

tsMuxeR add some Variables to the videostream at demuxing. I dont know what all the things are, but it works after that.

- Demux the Video and Audio Stream with tsmuxeR

- Demux the chapters and Subtitle Files with gMKVExtractGUI (tsmuxeR have problems with detect some subtitle formats)

- Remux all together with MKVToolNixGUI

and voila, the 3d mkv will play correctly with hardware Acceleration enabled on the Shield. On the FireTV and a Windows 10 PC all is fine also.
