gwbaker 4
I have searched and searched and cannot find the answer, I may be using the wrong search words... I have Emby Premier running on Windows 7 with WMC. WMC serves three other xbox systems to provide TV throughout my home. Here recently when selecting EMBY in WMC I am taken to a select server screen with the server's pc name and some funky address (http://[fe80::fc4f:2cef:609:2d09 then it fades to a point where I cannot read the rest). If I select it, I get an "Unable to connect to server at [fe80:" message. I then have to select manual login and enter the IP address of machine running emby. This is a royal pain in the ass for the HTPC and even more so for the xbox because you have to enter the IP address by hitting the remote 1, nine times, then button 9, four times, and so on... In the past I was usually presented with a list of the three users I have set up in my emby server. The select server was bypassed and I did not have to enter the IP address of my server. This happened only occasionally in the past, but here lately it is every single time. Why? And, how to I fix this annoying issue? Thanks!
Solution ebr 14851 Posted January 27, 2018 Solution Share Posted January 27, 2018 It sounds like your network is now using IPv6 addresses. If you can disable that on your server, things should go back to normal.
