Luke.

As per the title, whenever I pre-select subtitles before playback, the app crashes and returns me to normal TV.

I believe this is with PGS subtitles.

Not sure if you were aware.

Thanks.

Selecting external SRT subtitles during playback, does not show them.

Selecting PGS subtitles shows them, but playback is transcoded.

The Android TV app works correctly in both cases and without transcoding.

LG tv's do not natively support graphic based subtitles so transcoding is to be expected.

Let's re-evaluate with the next release of the app because we're unable to reproduce. Thanks.

Emby for LG 1.06 has just been released. Please try it out. Thanks !

The app still crashes and returns you to normal TV in v1.06 when trying to pre-select, or turn off, subtitles.

Actually, pre-selecting any of subtitles, audio track or video quality causes the app to crash.

i can't turn off subtitles, it does nothing in WebOS2, you get subtitle even if you have them as disabled.

I have noticed that the app crashes when I try to change subtitle/audio by the regular remote navigation buttons. I don't have the magic remote (I don't know if that is the name), but the mobile app does the same with the pointer option. With the pointer, like a mouse pointer, it doesn't crash. My speculation is that the problem might to be related to the regular remote, with navigation and selection by directional buttons.

I'm on WebOS 3.5 and can change subs only with the magic remote pointer. The conventional way really crashes the app.
