Luke 37008
It looks like either the ffmpeg/ffprobe files have gone missing, or they are not marked as executable. Can you check on that? They are located here: /config/ffmpeg/20150917 Thanks.

(see screenshot) there is a ffmpeg folder in appdata\emby\ffmpeg - but no log files in it see second screenshot for this folder Edited January 13, 2018 by chuga
Luke 37008
Ok, so you have two options: Use the server transcoding menu to configure your ffmpeg build Or switch to the new installation package on our website which will manage the ffmpeg build for you The second option is preferred and will also perform better, but it will require you to uninstall and then install the new package. Luke 37008
For docker you would use the one listed on our website.

I'm not quite sure how to switch to the installation package you referenced In regards that configuring ffmpeg can you provide more information on how to do that? Luke 37008
You basically need to download a build from somewhere, you can find some for linux on https://www.ffmpeg.org Then make sure to mark the ffmpeg and ffprobe files as executable and then configure them in emby under the transcoding menu. chuga 4
thanks for getting me this far - I have posted in unraid emby docker forum for some help how (hurricanehrndz). He uses https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Build/tree/master/unraid-templates/Emby not sure I can do either of the suggestions you had but maybe someone can update the unraid emby docker to resolve this. thanks
chuga 4
Hi @@Luke FYI - kept at it and came across this post https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/50441-docker-unable-to-locate-ffmpeg-unraid/ and the user posted "Solved it myself by swtiching from /config/ffmpeg to /usr/bin/ffmpeg. Now playing media does work again." I tried this (the usr/bin/ffmpeg path) and it seems to be working. Not sure why? thanks
