myriaxis 3
Hi, Most of the time, I use my Roku with Emby Server to watch movies. It works great. But occasionally, I use the legacy Emby Theater to watch movies on my laptop. Most of my movies are 720p + AAC stereo audio and Emby Theater is installed with default configuration. Today I got a weird issue, that hopefully is just a configuration or a cache issue. I have a few movies that I started with the Roku but didn't finish. If I try to resume them with Emby Theater, I get no audio. If I try to resume them with Roku, they play OK. If I reset the resume point and the played icon, I still get no audio in Emby Theater. I tried other movies that were encoded about the same time and they play OK with Emby Theater. I'm using Emby Server 3.2.60.0 I'm using the legacy Emby Theater. I'm not sure where to look next. A little help would be appreciated

myriaxis 3
Lots of people like Vintage stuff . Any ideas how to reset this? I have the feeling that the problem is on the server side where these files are locked somehow.
Luke 37060
Do they play in the built in web app?
myriaxis 3
Sorry for the delay. Yes they play in the web app.
myriaxis 3
It would be nice to find the reason, but I can simply switch to the web app instead.
Luke 37060
Unfortunately we are not actively developing the legacy app anymore. A big problem with the legacy app is that it relies on built-in Windows components. This makes it highly susceptible to failure based on windows updates, other software you've installed, system settings, etc. Something along those lines would be my guess. myriaxis 3
Well, thanks. I'll use the web app instead.
Luke 37060
Thanks for the feedback, and for a full featured replacement, consider trying the new version of the app: https://emby.media/emby-theater.html Thanks !
