It looks like ffmpeg is unable to access this location for whatever reason:

file:/home/crossfire/media/tv/Supernatural/Season 1/Supernatural - 01x04 - Phantom Traveler.avi

Why not try our new install package based on the faster .net core runtime? Instructions are on our website:

The big difference is that with this new package we include a bundled ffmpeg whereas the older package you installed made it a user requirement. Thanks.

Hi,

Im also having the problem with no compatible streams are currently available.

Works fine in Edge and the mobile app but the webplayer in firefox and chrome gives the error about "No compatible streams are currently available"

Tried both the current and beta version of chrome.

Upgraded emby server to latest beta version.

Hi, this one is strange. I don't see anything obvious here. Can you capture the browser debug console output?

Solved it.

Had to remove this line from my nginx.conf file:

 Well, allow all option but still have same

Either the file does not exist, or Emby Server does not have permission to access it.

Getting this error as of recently for some video files.

Have no idea why?

 

The error "playback error no compatible streams are currently available" shows on 2 computers using Emby Theater, on the cellphone using Emby app, and on a Web browser (Chrome) Mac machine.

 

I see everything on the request is a 200 OK, yet nothing happens. The video does not play and shows the above stated error.

Hi I'm a XPEnology user, My CPU is i7 6700K, 32G DDR4

After I install Emby server, it can playback 1080P video, but when I try to play 4K (HEVC/REMUX) video with transcoding, it will return playback error: No compatible streams are currently available....

My question is: Does this issue caused by the ffmpeg was banned by snology or it's caused by Emby server?

PS: in server log file it said some clips was not supported and related to ffmpeg.

If it is caused by Emby, how can I solve it, play 4K video and  transcoding to 1080p

And in some history topic, you mentioned that emby doesn't support m2ts file and iso file?

I think this might be the problem? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

And in some history topic, you mentioned that emby doesn't support m2ts file and iso file?

I think this might be the problem? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

So this is a bluray folder rip and not a video file? Please keep in mind that is only experimental, I assume you saw the warnings, right? For best results I would suggest converting to mkv.

This error is intermittent. An Android device that didn't experience the issue yesterday and this morning _with the same file_ now throws this error.

hi, not sure if i had to create a new thread since replies to this one are recent enough and it's about the same issue... so apologies in advance  :rolleyes:  

I'm getting the same playback error on some .mkv files, others play just fine.

I can see that on successful playback i get an ffmpeg-remux log file, while on the failed ones an ffmpeg-transcode log. No clue if that's any useful info, sorry.

 

 

my setup:

emby is running on a debian 9 container in proxmox, i tried playback from kodi running in a win10 virtual machine and on chrome/firefox on android/win10/linux mint machines on the network with same results.

 

Pls let me know if i should provide more infos. Thanks.

 

Edit: forgot to mention that the files being played are on a samba share that i've mounted in the debian container where emby server is running  with 777 permissions.
