swhitmore 781
Hi guys, I'm having my videos randomly pausing on ET for Windows on my SP4. It's been happening awhile, but I keep forgetting to solve the problem. I managed to capture a good log. The part that stood out for me was this, which was right about the time the video paused: 2017-12-29 12:19:24.775 Info HttpServer: HTTP Response 500 to 192.168.1.7. I end up going back to the details page and resuming from there. It's happening at least once per video. full log: https://paste2.org/X30W0mDj Thanks, Scott Edit: Found the same long response times from about the time it happened previously: 2017-12-29 10:17:26.478 Info HttpServer: HTTP Response 500 to 192.168.1.7. Luke 37024
Perhaps it's too much for your network to handle? you could try lowering the in-app bitrate setting.

Hmmm, I don't think its network related. Could it be something else?
swhitmore 781
Hi @@Luke I lowered the bitrate where the video started transcoding. Issue came up again unfortunately. 2017-12-30 09:44:26.836 Info HttpServer: HTTP Response 500 to 192.168.1.7. Luke 37024
Well that's not a transcoding url, it would appear that it's still direct playing.
swhitmore 781
Well that's not a transcoding url, it would appear that it's still direct playing. Ah, ok. So most videos are now trancoding, but the ones that still have the pausing issue are direct playing (must have a lower bitrate to start with). So would there be a reason why there is no issue with transcoded videos? Edited December 30, 2017 by swhitmore
Luke 37024
It could be something in the video file that the Microsoft video player doesn't like and this is causing that little hiccup. The process of transcoding with almost always correct that sort of thing.

7illusions 1249
@@swhitmore do you see the same issue in Ember? They use the same video engine and if MS is to blame, the problem should be in both apps.

Would that show those errors in the log though?
