nkelly 6
Hi; I'm sure this is a stupid question but I've created a playlist of about 200 cartoons and when i hit shuffle play i only seem to play one item . what I'm after is to have the roku continuously play items in a random order from the playlist. Thanks for your help !

ifignella 12
Must be something going on with shuffle at the moment. Normally, it would do exactly what you're wanting.
ebr 14862
Yes, the official app should have done just what you wanted so I'd be interested in figuring out why it didn't for you. Thanks.
speechles 1912
Yes, the official app should have done just what you wanted so I'd be interested in figuring out why it didn't for you. Thanks. @@ebr It is possible it could be a legacy device with older hardware. They can't meet the minimum firmware requirements to get the new app. In that case, they're correct it didn't support continuous play yet blue neon does. @@nkelly What model is your roku device? What firmware version is it on? What version of the official roku app are you using?
nkelly 6
Sorry to be so late to respond. Its a Roku 2 XS (3100) unit. I'm at the current software rev - 1 (meaning that roku had some issue with it's latest code and made it a manual upgrade - which i haven't done yet - unless i'm confusing it with the Verison 3's that i have as well). I'll check the actual rev tonight when i get home and let you know. I've been using roku 2 because all the TVs in my workshop are SD (one is a 50 inch SD TV and i don't want to replace it yet). The Neon seems to be working. I have roku 3's in the house and will try the shuffle playlist on them tonight. I use the functionality to randomize cartoon playback will i'm working in my shop. nkelly 6
Again - sorry to respond so late but the Roku i'm using is a Roku 2 XS (3100) unit firmware is 8.0.0.
ebr 14862
And what is the version of the app you are using?
nkelly 6
I'll check tonight when i get home. If its a roku app (from the roku store) won't it always be the most current release ? one of the things i dislike about roku is you have no control over the update process of the apps on the box. will get the info and update tonight. Solution nkelly 6 Posted February 5, 2018 Author Solution Share Posted February 5, 2018 I wanted to respond back to my own original post. I noticed that is was having an issue with the neon blue app stopping during playlist shuffle playback after at least a few hours. I usually use this setup in my workshop as background noise ( some people like the radio ) so it's running all day while i'm coming and going and i didn't really notice when it shutdown - goes back to server screen. I decided to look in the settings and i found that the blue neon has a sanity check setting on continuous playback ( asks for operator intervention) which is defaulted to 5 hours. i unchecked the setting and ran the playlist successfully for 2 days straight ( that's a lot of cartoons ). i looked in the emby roku app and the server app and found similar settings that were defaulted on. I've turned them off but i haven't verified the roku app is running endlessly yet, My expectation is that it will. Just wanted to thank everybody that tried to help and put a final solution on the issue. Thanks
