Want to allow any user to cast to Emby Theater, but do not want to cast to my tabs

Hi all

 

- so I'm logged in as User A (also admin) under Emby Theater,

- in Dashboard, for User B, I disable "Allow remote control of other users" and enable "Allow remote control of shared devices" (not sure what a shared device is)

 

In this case, as User B, I cannot cast to Emby Theater that is logged in as User A (doesn't appear in cast icon) unless I enable "Allow remote control of other users". But then if I do that, they can cast to my active tabs in the web browser, which I prefer not to have.

 

Is there a better way to set this up? Thanks.

Those are your choices. You can also play with user device access but that will make the sign in process more cumbersome.

I see. I think it could be nice for people who run Emby Theater on HTPC and have multiple users. Maybe a setting local to the Emby Theater install to say whether it should accept all incoming cast requests. Not sure how everyone else is doing this.
