shred00 13
I have some files that look like this: ffprobe reports about the file: Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from 'file.mp4': Metadata: major_brand : isom minor_version : 512 compatible_brands: isomiso2avc1mp41 encoder : Lavf57.71.100 Duration: 00:21:35.29, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 4508 kb/s Stream #0:0(eng): Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0x31637661), yuv420p(tv, bt709/unknown/unknown), 1280x720, 3858 kb/s, SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9, 23.98 fps, 23.98 tbr, 16k tbn, 47.95 tbc (default) Metadata: handler_name : VideoHandler Stream #0:1(und): Audio: ac3 (ac-3 / 0x332D6361), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 384 kb/s (default) Metadata: handler_name : SoundHandler Side data: audio service type: main Stream #0:2(und): Audio: aac (LC) (mp4a / 0x6134706D), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 128 kb/s (default) Metadata: handler_name : SoundHandler Stream #0:3(und): Audio: mp3 (mp4a / 0x6134706D), 48000 Hz, stereo, s16p, 127 kb/s (default) Metadata: handler_name : SoundHandler When I play them in the web player in Chrome, there is no sound. I guess the first track being AC3 is a problem since Chrome can't play AC3. So I click on the musical note in the control bar and see the three tracks, one listed as Und Dolby Digital 5.1 Default and another as Und AAC stereo Default and one as Und MP3 stereo Default so I click on either of the latter two. Still no audio. If I remux the file so that the AAC track is before the AC3 track the file will play with sound. Regardless of order, shouldn't that track selection control work? I've uploaded a log from the server (per How to Report a Problem - Server - Emby Community: Media Playback issues) but I'm not sure if that will be helpful since audio track selection is completely a client-side feature is it not? The media server just streams the whole file with all of media tracks and the client chooses which one to decode and play, AFAIU. Playing the stream in alternate media players like mplayer and MX Player demonstrates that the alternate audio tracks are definitely in the stream and selectable and playable. It seems to be only the Emby webplayer in Chrome that is having difficulty. Any ideas?
