Zodler 18
Please add HDR support. If I play an HDR file in Emby iOS TV it plays it washed out. File is normal HDR10. First I suppose it should be in the server. Like a 3D file, the server should recognize it and show an HDR icon on the server.

Zodler 18
Are you saying that Emby supports HDR and I have a problem on my side? Otherwise you can try any HDR file yourself. Here is a sample HDR file for you: http://4kmedia.org/lg-new-york-hdr-uhd-4k-demo/ Don't watch the youtube. Click on the download file.

ebr 14858
Just to be sure, you did enable dynamic range matching in the Apple TV device settings, correct?
Zodler 18
There is no dynamic range matching in the Apple TV. It is always set to HDR. Some people say they will add that later in TV OS 11.2 but currently there is not. Here are the logs. I think the problem is that it is transcoding on the server side. I play 2 files. The first is SDR. The second is HDR. ffmpeg-transcode-7fd822b4-07f7-4f0c-9461-c600bcf1fd20.txt ffmpeg-transcode-9b8dec76-9b83-48a1-b5c9-e87af73ff4f2.txt ffmpeg-transcode-1945ad0b-6b99-4825-9681-a9489086f96b.txt ffmpeg-transcode-7344efc0-2393-42e8-938f-be3662fffdac.txt server-63645583733.txt
Zodler 18
By the way, the SDR file also looks really bad. Not the colors but the resolution looks real low. I think the server is transcoding everything SDR + HDR.
ebr 14858
So your device menu doesn't have these options:
Zodler 18
So your device menu doesn't have these options: No, what apple TV OS version you have?
Luke 36881
Exactly, that's why I asked for logs. We need to learn why it is transcoding.
ebr 14858
Exactly, that's why I asked for logs. We need to learn why it is transcoding. Logs are above and all items appear to be mkv so they won't direct play. The appear to be falling into the bitrate problems others are reporting as well.
