Gaspar Filmes 8 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 how can I play a url in the emby player, natively inside the library, without being plugins. Due to the excellent presentation, organization and functionality that the library does in comparison to the IPTV plugin for example. it may be a stupid response from me but there it goes: I thought about editing a file (.m3u and etc ...) and insert the link inside it (http: //.......mp4) and then copy the file inside the folder containing the movies / series and etc, to see if it reproduces in the player of the emby but without success. would be in short, to do an alternative task with the operation of the IPTV plugin for the emby natively, without requiring a plugin. Any help i'll be thankful!
Solution Luke 38493 Posted October 31, 2017 Solution Posted October 31, 2017 Hi, you would have to either use .strm files, or use the IPTV plugin. You can learn about strm files on our wiki: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Strm%20files Let us know if this helps. Thanks. 1

I tried to do the same with (ftp://.....mp4), and it didnt play, if I paste this link in VLC player, it works well. Edited November 1, 2017 by marilson.furtado
Luke 38493 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 We haven't tested ftp, sorry. I guess you'll just have to try it, thanks.

Luke 38493 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 I'm not sure at this point, again we haven't tested it. What we have tested is what's in the wiki document. Thanks. 1
drikosv8 24 Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 @@Luke, testing putting an FTP link inside the .strm file is not played in the Emby player, can you see if you can include this option? Another problem is that when we display a .strm movie and when we stop playback in the middle, it marks as watched and does not give the option to continue from where it stopped, can you see that too? And in this latest version of Emby, when you click to watch any file, the background image does not appear more like it was before, it gets dark. 1
Luke 38493 Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Just so i can get an idea of where the issue is: how to report a problem. Thanks.
drikosv8 24 Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Okay, I'll open a ticket there. Just one more question, is it not possible to transcode .strm file? because I downloaded the bitrate to force the transcoding, but it did not work. Ok, vou abrir um ingresso lá. Apenas mais uma pergunta, não é possível transcodificar o arquivo .strm? porque eu baixei a bitrate para forçar a transcodificação, mas não funcionou.
