Try setting this option in web app playback settings. It will cause server transcoding, but they will render correctly:

Yes I believe this is due to the font config for ffmpeg. Right now for our Docker release you have to supply your own ffmpeg build which means this is up to you to handle, but we are in process of revamping our Docker container and ffmpeg will soon be included. We will look at handling this.

In the meantime, what operating system are you running?

No actually i was wondering if you might try our ubuntu installation and give that a quick test.

I test this version   emby-server-deb_3.2.36.0_amd64.deb

It can not play with this subtitle, its stuck.

ffmpeg have some error:

ontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
[Parsed_subtitles_1 @ 0x971220] No usable fontconfig configuration file found, using fallback.
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file

Can you please try the ubuntu update 3.2.40?

I know that Docker is your preferred installation, and it will be getting all of these changes soon. Thanks.

What do you mean configure movie database?

emby-server's config, collections data, some movie posters downloaded by myself

Ok, I wouldn't switch just because of this font issue. We are going to be looking at resolving this very soon for all platforms. Thanks.
