IPTV / M3U Providers that Work with Emby

Hi Everyone:

My Quick Question (I think):

What are the IPTV/M3U services available in the U.S. that you all are using and work with Emby-server?

My Story:

I am recently divorced from DishTV and have Emby-server running on one of my Linux Mint boxes for about a month now. Primarily accessing Emby-server via XBOX One and Linux Mint/Firefox browser. Last week I installed the HDHomeRun Connect Tuner and signed up for Emby Premiere! I love it!

Now I would like to replace SlingTV with some sort of IPTV/M3U tuner/service so that whether I am watching OTA, server-stored content, or streaming content over the Internet it comes through Emby. Information about Emby-compatible, reliable, IPTV/M3U providers is proving to be very hard to come by, so I am just hoping to get suggestions from people that are having great luck with their IPTV/M3U providers. Thanks All!

I'm not aware of any "legal" providers in the US but maybe a user will be kind enough to send you a PM with some suggestions.

You're not finding much because it's generally frowned upon to talk about it.  Just like Sonarr/Radarr/etc, it's viewed as potential piracy.  The rule of thumb is the same as Fight Club.

Thanks for the responses. I truly appreciate the information and discussion. I'm guessing the Fight Club reference means we don't talk about it? I never watched the movie.

Anyway, I was pretty sure that some of these providers were shady, but I assumed some are legit. I mean, I think SlingTV is legit isn't it? I'd be happy to view SlingTV through Emby-server, but I am also not opposed to getting a better deal if there's one out there, but the main thing I am aiming for is to have one interface to get at OTA and legal streaming -- that's what I am hoping for. That being said, I feel a debt of gratitude towards the pirates out there. Ethically, it seems to me to be a worthy act of civil disobedience and an opposing force to the corrupt DRM and copyright laws that big media has lobbied for and received. For myself though, I am looking for a service that is compliant with U.S. law.

From the little I've looked into streaming it seems it can either be legal or illegal? I am only interested in above-board legal streaming services. If some networks or studios don't like SlingTV or whatever, well let's just say I care about the networks to the exact same degree they care about me. :).

You've never seen Fight Club?!?!  But yes, you are correct.

Unfortunately, you're not going to find a name brand IPTV provider.  You mention Sling, but they don't expose their stream because of piracy, and they'd never make money if it ever got out (for the same reason IPTV providers are able to make money).  There are no commercial IPTV services that are legal, at least in the US.  Thus the whole Kodi debacle.  If you want legal streaming via Emby, you need to either cough up the $ for a package through your cable provider and get a HDHR that supports cable card, or find less "legal" alternate means like Sonarr or an IPTV provider.  GL
