Sammy 735
That's the question.. My Radeon HD7850 GPU recently gave up the ghost and am using on-board graphics right now but want to optimize it best I can. TIA
Sammy 735
Nobody? What about the native player settings? I want to use madVR mainly for frame rate switching right now but what GPU is recommended these days for high profile processing? Thanks.
Luke 36997
The next release will have refresh rate switching for the default player.

I'd start with Chroma: Bicubic75 + AR Image upscaling: Lanczos3 + AR Image doubling: Off Upscaling refinement: Off Artifact removal - Debanding: Medium Artifact removal - Deringing: Off Image enhancements: Off Dithering: Ordered Edited October 10, 2017 by Jdiesel
Sammy 735
The next release will have refresh rate switching for the default player. Good to hear! The native Player does do a pretty decent job and I may just save my money (and heat stress on my HTPC too) and just use the iGPU going forward. Will it do 3D? I get #D SBS playback with madVR but haven't tried the native player yet.

I will give those a whirl and report back my findings. Obviously the settings I had previously were too much for the HD4600 iGPU to handle. Sammy 735
Still haven't got to this yet.. I will and report back my findings. Currently I have the mpv player set to "Auto" all through.
Luke 36997
Just a heads up the next version of the app will be removing madvr again, but I think you'll find the external player experience will be much better. This will allow you to use MPC-HC with MadVR if you desire. You're welcome to try out a test version here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/46763-theater-mpv-test/page-1 Thanks !
Sammy 735
I'm moving on to ShieldTV for various reasons, one of them is an annoying pop up, not Emby related but it does take focus during playback, which is something in the task manager failing to run that I've not been able to eliminate; the other being choppy playback of 23.976 fps content with both the native player and madVR. Also, when using MadVR the statistics screen won't go away. Hitting CTRL J does nothing and clicking "Stats for Nerds" brings up the native mpv stats overlay. I've rebooted since last testing this but am not sure if this issue with Stats has changed as I've been busy deploying my new to me ShielTV.
