lightsout 144 Posted September 29, 2017 Share Posted September 29, 2017 I am using WMC on an htpc and a server running emby and storing all my files on the same local network. Files seem to take forever to play. If I play the file by simply opening the shared folder and plying with something like MPC-HC it works instantly so I don't think its a network issue.Please advise. log.txt Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

lightsout 144 Posted September 30, 2017 Author Share Posted September 30, 2017 Hmmm that's strange. Let me explain what I witnessed yesterday. I push play on HTPC. Loading circle and then screen goes black. When I go to the server dashboard on my server it shows that it's playing. The file got to about 1:54 and then started playing on the HTPC. When I looked back to the server the time has started over. Not sure if this is related but I can never control playback from the server dashboard. I noticed the option to pause a client is there, and also send a message but those don't do anything. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
lightsout 144 Posted October 2, 2017 Author Share Posted October 2, 2017 I have an issue with certain files where a file takes a couple minutes to actually play. The reason I am posting in the server section is because when I view playback on the server, it appears to start right up on the client. Yet the client screen is black. At around the two minute mark the file will begin to play on the client, at this point the dashboard shows the play time start over from 00:00. Also I do not have control (pause, send message) from the server dashboard to the client. They do nothing. The logs for server and client are in a thread that I will link to. What is happening is the app is reporting to the server that playback has started, but it hasn't actually started yet. The fact that you can't stop it from the server is most likely due to Emby for WMC being in a transitional state starting to play and it probably doesn't support stopping during that time period.
