web viewer Interface issue

Recommended Posts

I tried the web interface and player, and noticed 2 things on my media center setup.

1) The normal web interface has many rows, but small font on the tv guide. My parents couldn't read it. any chance for higher rows with bigger fonts or balloon text to help?

2) The media center setup used a combined keyboard / trackpad like on a laptop. Without the scroll wheel, I couldn't scroll the list to select streaming transcode quality.

Is there another interface which addresses these two issues, or a way to emulate / re-assign the scroll wheel function in Emby?

Windows media center is designed for a TV screen. The web app is designed for sitting up close on a desktop computer or smartphone or tablet.

It sounds like you want to have them use the Emby Theater web app at http://tv.emby.media

That one has a layout that is meant for tv usage. Thanks.

Hi Luke,

Given the issues with HW transcoding, I was reluztant to buy a month of Emby Premiere, but it was worth it.

Theater is just what I was missing. If this layout could be used in a web browser, rather than install a program, it would be ideal. :)

I did.

And it installs quite a bit of SW. It's not "just" opening a web browser like the pc web interface.

It opens a browser page for me. What software did you see get installed?

Not sure... but it seems to be working now.

Is there a way to get directly to the Emby TV mode?

I'd like to be able to make a web link to my server IP address, rather than going via tv.emby.media because my web browser is set to clean up on exit.

This means I have to enter the pin or web address each time, in stead of getting to the server directly.

When I visit the server IP address (standard install) I get the PC screen, not the TV suitable layout (which I really like).

It dawned on me what I did wrong since I got the SW install.

In a blank moment I managed to install the Emby Theater SW instead of just going to the tv link. Not sure why.

But it looks the same as the tv.emby.media link, except being an install thing (at least at first glance). As a plan B, this might do the job.

Yes there are three versions of theater. Desktop, UWP app, and url tv.emby.media

I noticed a common thing for Web interface, Android and Theater app for Windows.

When I make a channel "favourite", it gets to the top of my guide listing.

But in the Channels overview, the sequence is still as imported from the tuner. (the heart doen't make a difference in Emby).

Is this on purpose? I'd really like the same order (list sequence) of channels in "channels" and guide view.

I guess it's for the wish list. :)

Hi folks,

I experienced something strange with the server web interface.

Then viewing the guide on my pc screen, there is a time bar and arrows left/right to move the "time window" being viewed.

When moving the time bar, the guide content didn't move / update.

In tv.emby.media, and on android it works as intended. Just the server web view. Can anyone check if it's a bug or just an issue with my PC / browser?

Can anyone please confirm if it is intentional that the TV channel list isn't changed by "favourite" hearts, just the guide listing?

I just got home to double-check. The error can be reproduced, using Firefox, emby server 3.2.33.

I can't scroll the guide, not by arrows, nor by bar, to see tomorrow's guide. It's there on tv.emby.media and android. Just not on the server web interface.

the time line changes, but the guide does not scroll.

Ok, I tested on firefox, no problem found. Worked fine here. Please try it again with the next release of Emby Server. Thanks.

I'm having issues with horizontal scrolling. While trying to scroll left or right the 'Latest TV' jumps vertically up and down, this only happens with the 'Latest TV' and doesn't happen with other items like 'Movies'. I suspect it's a CSS issue with the last item on the page rather than the actual 'Latest TV' category.

My browser/OS combo (MS Edge 40.15063.674.0, Win10Pro)

Anyone have any suggestions to fix this?

[Apologies if this is posted in the wrong area]

@@Luke, here is a video I mocked up that shows what I'm experiencing;

Yes this is reproducible in Edge, but not Firefox or Chrome.
