DANG! Missed Big Bang Theory: CBS No Guide Data

So, two weeks ago I checked the guide and BBT was scheduled to record on CBS (channel 29.1 here). 

 

I just looked to make sure it was recording and this is what I see:

There's no way I can see even to start a manual recording. What the heck is going on?!

 

Please tell me how to fix this.

Hi,

 

I did a clean server install (3.2.32). I haven't been able to get a bunch of guide data for some channels before October 2nd...logs attached.

 

I do a full refresh, and it completes ok. and all the guide data is there for anything after 8pm, october 2nd. Prior to that I'm missing 1/3 of the data.

 

Any thoughts?

So, I went ahead and stopped the Emby Server and took the latest update (I was a version behind I think; I run server as a service so have to do updates manually.)

 

Then I did a Scheduled Tasks \ Refresh Guide.  After this, all the guide data showed in the Guide.

 

The problem I'm facing is that my guide WAS fully populated last time I looked at it a week or two ago. Well, less than two weeks ago since it already had the listing for tonight's episode of BBT, and it knew it was supposed to record.

 

At some point along the way, "SOMETHING" happened, and much of the guide data was lost or corrupted or otherwise not working. And suddenly Emby didn't know to record at that time and channel.

 

And, HOW DOES ONE MANUALLY TELL IT TO START RECORDING? I came in only two minutes in, and could have saved most of the episode to a temporary file, but couldn't find a control to start recording.

 

This is so frustrating.

 

PS: The refresh guide scheduled task had run about two hours before the episode start time. I'm not sure when exactly the data got messed up, whether it was today or some prior date after I last looked into it.

I wonder if there was a problem with schedules direct. have you tried logging into your account on their website to browse the data there?

I logged in there to check. I tested the listings against my zip. All the channels are there (is there somewhere to see the listing of each channel?), just like in emby. Just the actually show listings aren't. I get all the channels and even the images, just not the shows. And only before next Monday is missing as I said which is odd.

 

I will try a full reboot and install overtop once this initial library scan finishes.

I too have Schedules Direct and my guide data is missing as well. I have verified that my account is not blocked and I can view the listing on SD site.

@@Marc_G, have not noticed the recording buttons we have directly in the video player screens? 

 

Thats fine IF you have guide data but at the momement there is just NO WAY to say "Record this channel NOW, whatever is on, Until I tell you to stop"

Like Mark said above, with no guide data, just an empty channel, I didn't see a record button. It's possible I missed it.

 

But the bigger issue is that checking a few days, seeing a recording schedule, isn't enough to guarantee the recording happens. This has happened numerous times in the past where suddenly guide data disappears or gets messed up. I've just started recordings for the fall season; this was my first recording and it failed despite me checking on it and neither me nor wife are happy. Sigh.

So to round this out...feature request .... what we need to have is a button on the channel detail screen to "Record"  If there is no guide data just make a file called something Line "Recording Of Channel XXXX - Started 19:15pm".  It should then carry on recoding until stopped from the same screen or the active recordings screen with a maximum timelimit of about 6 hours.

I ended up reinstalling everything several times over the last day...and the problem persisted. 

 

However, i just completed another virgin install and the guide is fully loaded and working, so i'm going to assume this missing guide data was a SD issue.

Thanks, someone else mentioned that their guide is back too, also I think it's possible you both are in Canada although I don't remember for sure.

i removed both HDHomeruns and removed SD account and added them back still not working.  I am in the US.  I get the following in the logs

As one of the OPs, I'm confirming I do have guide data for CBS (and other channels) going out 7 days. This weekend I'll be redoing my live TV setup per another thread advice to remove a separate problem I've seen in the past caused by changes in channel naming at the tuner. Will report back if any problems restoring guide data after that process.
