Files Won't Play that have embedded Subtitles

I have been having trouble playing files that have embedded subtitles.  Other files that don't have embedded subtitles work just fine.  I really don't want to have to convert all the files to make it work.  And I don't know if that will even work yet.  that's next on the list.  I didn't have an issue until I updated the firmware on my QNAP 451.  Then I thought my EMBY App needed to update to stay up to date with the firmware update.  So I did that.  It still does it.  Now I play my files through my phone that's connected to my Chromecast.  I can play the files with embedded subtitles on my phone just fine.  But when I try to get it to stream to Chromecast it doesn't work.  Just plays and pauses back and forth really fast.  Now if I go to disable subtitles in the phone app or even just go to that it stops the back and forth and acts as if it playing.  But nothing actually plays on the chromecast.  Iv'e tried completely disabling subtitles in the phone app and it still does the same thing.  Iv'e looked into the trans-coding settings.  At this point i'm at a loss.  Could someone please help!!!   I have seen people submit logs and everything.  However, I don't know QNAP/EMBY enough to know where they are at and how to extract them.  Sorry.  Kind of a noob here.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have attached the ffmpeg-transcode and the server log.  I hope this is what you need.  I noticed now that I had turned off the subtitles in the app on my phone that Emby thinks it's playing it but nothing is being casted to the TV.  I don't know why it's doing that.  Thanks again for helping!

Because I had up the dashboard when I had tried to play it to the chromecast.  I looked at the tv and there was nothing.  and when I looked at the dashboard.  It said it was playing.  Like it was going through the minutes/seconds of the 24min video.  Know what I mean?  And I'll make sure I have the newest version installed.  I'll let you know if that fixes it.

@@Gormag, the server is unable to start ffmpeg. did you configure ffmpeg to a .sh path? That doesn't look right to me:

/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/ffmpeg/ffmpeg/ffmpeg.sh

I just haven't seen it before as an .sh. if you're sure it's correct then make sure it is marked with execute permissions as that could be another reason that emby server can't launch it.

@@Luke There is one that just says ffmpeg after i'm in the folder.  That's when I look for it through EMBY.  However, how would I be able to tell if it's marked with execute permissions?  How do I go about finding the /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/ in the qnap?  I have gone into File Station and it doesn't show anything like that.  Are my folders hidden?  I don't know how to make them show...  I'm sorry.  Very new to having a NAS and it's workings.

Ok if you can be patient and wait a few days, we have better things on the horizon. Currently our qnap package is built by a qnap rep, and the ffmpeg setup process is a little unclear. We are currently working on our own qnap package that will be built by us and will replace the one you are currently using. Any day now we should have that up for testing. Thanks.

We have a new QNAP package available for testing:

https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/51334-new-qnap-package-for-testing/

Unlike the current package in the QNAP community, this is built by the Emby Team and will be tested and supported by us. It is also built with the new .NET Core runtime from Microsoft, which has major performance improvements over the mono runtime used by the community package.

Please try it out if interested in helping us test it. Thanks !
