Is there a way to exclude libraries from parts of the app?

In particular I have several libraries that I only want to see the content thereof when I go into the library. I do not want to see their content in "Continue watching"or in any of the "Latest" rows.

In fact there are only two libraries, Movies and TV, that I want to see their content at all if I have not intentionally gone into said library.

Such a configuration is possible in the web app and it works great I was just hoping that the Roku app, and some others, would have that option but I have not been able to locate it.

Thanks. And if this is answered elsewhere it simply exposes my poor searching skills.

Only way is to setup those libraries as Unset or enable Folder View for all libraries via the server.

Display a folder view to show plain media folders
If enabled, Emby apps will display a Folders category alongside your media library. This is useful if you'd like to have plain folder views.

Thank you. I guess I can live with it like it is.

I set up a library as "Unset" and its content does not appear in most of the rows. However the one place I mostly want it to not show  "continue watching" partially played items still show up.

I do not care much but it is just inconvenient and, maybe, at some point we will see the Roku app become as customizable as the web app. Heck, I do not even need a "Continue Watching" row. The "Next Up" row shows the only things that I want to "Continue Watching" and shows them in a reasonable and straight forward way.

@@Gilgamesh_48, I think we should have a way to completely take a library off the home screen, if that's what you want. So I can see us adding this kind of thing down the line.

Thank You! It is probably a minority that would like or need this but I thought that since the functionality in in the web interface there might be enough interest ti justify it being on the Roku, and maybe others, as well.

It is good to hear that I am not alone in my belief that this is needed functionality.

HI,

Could this also extend to the display settings configured in ther user settings in the web client. Eg. Don't display the "Lastest TV" only show "Next up"

Why can't you use the Home Screen option already?

Edit:  Tested and this option does remove section from Home screen in app also.

Thanks for the tip and I tried this but on the Roku beta and "stable" apps the entire "Latest Shows" strip still shows?

It is removed on the web app however..

If removes it from the opening app screen for me, but if you click on the TV Library yes it is still there.

Well i'm on Emby version 3.2.30.0 with Latest media set to "Hide watched content from last media" and Latest Shows isn't removed from the Roku home screen.

With that setting ticked It does remove watched shows from appearing in the strip but Latest Shows still appears along with all the latest media.

I am in the process of moving from Plex to Emby due to a lot of stupid things Plex has done lately and their horrid customer service,

Operationally, for me, Emby is ahead or even on most features but Plex has a "by library" option at the server level called "Include in dashboard." When that option is not checked Plex will exclude everything in that library from the opening screen so nothing gets shown from that library at all. It even excludes that library from "Continue Watching." That is if I Have a library called "Granddaughters" and it does not have "Include in dashboard" checked and I watch half of "Kirsten's twelfth birthday" that video only shows up if I enter the library. It is never seen anywhere on the opening screen of any app.

That is something I would like in Emby. On thinking about it it should be at the server level and the apps should respect it. What Emby has now is half way there BUT videos that are partially played always appear in "Continue watching" and that, I think, should avoided.

My main desire is to have the libraries like "Home Videos" not clutter up the opening screen as it is quite common to watch or show just parts of those videos, usually expressly to embarrass one of the granddaughters  :D and leave it partially watched and it is not needed that the partially watch video clutter up the home screen.

Of course not having any "Continue watching" row accomplishes the same thing and would be equally acceptable to me but maybe not to others.

This is in no way a showstopper but, I believe, it would just make for a better experience for many people.

Thanks for listening (reading) my ramblings. I hope, maybe, they may give the developers some good ideas.
