I'm currently on server 3.2.30.8 with version 3.1.0.0 of the XML plugin.

It's not extracting any metadata from my .xml files, episode titles are just the filename & episode descriptions are missing but images (episode thumbs, posters, backdrops) all appear to be correct.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin but it made no difference.

Looking back, it seems to have started failing on 1 September.

8MB log here (234k zipped version here).

I added Doctor Foster S02E01 and American Dad S14E21 during the life of that log.

I don't see any errors coming from the xml plugin. It looks like you may have a networking problem though that you need to look at:

The network path was not found

The network path errors are due to my second NAS (kiyone) which is off at the moment (and usually is off).

The newly added content is all accessible and playable, the thumbnails stored in the season/metadata folders are visible in emby (server and ET), as is the new season folder for Doctor Foster. So, I'm confident that this isn't a network issue.

I still use xml's and haven't seen a issue with anything yet, unless everything is just being written to database.  Episodes and Movies I added last night appear fine.  I will do some edit testing to ensure xml reading.

@Luke

I have noticed is episodes thumbs appear to be hit and miss for "legacy" images.

They display poster images instead of episode thumbs from metadata folder.  In my case they are labeled with tvdb image number created by MCM.

Metabrowser names episode thumbs the same as the video file just with a jpg extension instead. My episode thumbs for newly added content are displaying correctly (I've manually extracted a thumb from the video with metabrowser and the exact same image appears in Emby).

The main issue for me is that episode titles and descriptions are no longer being extracted from the xml file (metabrowser stores these with the same name as the video but inside the metadata folder one level down from the video).

Okay it doesn't appear to be working as I added new episodes and customized the overview to see if Emby is actually reading them and it isn't, it appears to be writing to the database.

This shouldn't matter, but try removing the tvmaze plugin.

Note: I have my library settings set like this:

Not sure if that makes any difference.

On a clean install of 3.30.9 dotnet, the xml plugin is working correctly.

But I can't get it working on regular beta.

@Luke

Would this have anything to do with "<ImageSavingConvention>Legacy</ImageSavingConvention>" as the new install is "<ImageSavingConvention>Compatible</ImageSavingConvention>".

I wouldn't think so, because that's just for images.

Any ideas why this works in dotnet build but not beta?

I have tested in .9 and .10 and both image and metadata xml reading works

In beta neither images or metadata xml reading works

what if you just make your changes and wait for the realtime monitor or library scan to pick them up?

I made changes at 12:13 (Halt and Catch Fire s04e04, Bring It On:....) and nothing updated via web client.  As for images Emby screen grabber is getting images instead of one existing in folder.

It is odd dotnet is functions properly.
